You Are Capable of Shopping the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale | She Sweats Diamonds

Yeah yeah. The “biggest sale of the year!” is here and every single blogger is talking about it. On their Instagram, their twitter, Insta-stories and obviously blogs. As a fellow blogger, I’m annoyed. No, I won’t say, “I’ve got your back” and I don’t want to recommend you anything. Heck, I don’t want to recommend you cheap quality items even if I am recommending you something. And no, I definitely don’t want to talk about Tory Burch riding boots or any kind of blanket scarf.

You know what pains me? That I wrote tips on how to shop the 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale without copying the website. And you know what? Every blogger did the same thing except they took what the website said and wrote “tips” on how to shop the sale and called it a blog post.

And here I was thinking I had an original thought. I’ve been blogging for over 12 years and I just started taking it seriously this year. So seriously that I’ve felt like I have had to step up my game and brainstorm to be even more original in such a saturated industry because who the heck wants to be a copy?!

Well, you know what? Today’s post about the sale is about my picks for myself. Not for you. Me. There. I said it.

Why? Because I’m PRETTY sure you know how to look for items you want. I know my readers are not dumb to know how to shop for themselves because you’re more than capable to operate your computer and/or your Nordstrom app or the internet on your phone.

And you know what? Some of my picks I’m going to buy for myself and some are just pieces I’d love to have, but would rather call them “wishful thinking” items. And if you want to shop them because we have the same taste in fashion, more power to you. If you don’t, more power to you. Warning, you may not like some of my picks. And I’m okay with that because these picks are for me.

OUTERWEAR

I’m a huge sucker for outerwear. I need something beige/camel this year because I’ve put it off long enough. Look at the coat! It’s in my favorite shade of blue! I think I may nab that floral moto jacket just to get out of my fashion comfort zone.

TOPS/SWEATERS

Notice I didn’t choose any off-the-shoulder tops? It’s because I adore cold shoulder tops more. I also love ruffles and peplum details and want it all in neutrals.

BOTTOMS

Since I already own denim from DL1961, Paige, NYDJ and Frame, it was only right to select more (yes, without rips). One thing I want to focus on this fall is adding a lot more faux leather leggings to my wardrobe! They’re just so comfy! With a long sweater and some boots? Yeahhh…did I mention I love fall?!

DRESSES

I love dresses, but jumpsuits make me feel invincible for some reason. Out of all of the collage posts, how did all of the bloggers miss this gorgeous red jumpsuit?! ::swoon:: Oh and that sweater dress. I can definitely see it with some sneakers.

WORKOUT

I love the atheleisure fashion trend, but mainly because I like feeling like I’ve got it together before, during and after a work out. Yep, the first thing I bought from the sale were these highly-rated high-waisted black leggings. Let’s see if they live up to the hype!

SHOES

Yeah, I’m in desperate need of comfortable booties for fall. I also need some new tall brown/camel boots (my seven year old boots died this past fall). And yes, I put a pair of house shoes on this post because I go through them like crazy. And because #LetsBeReal. I’m eyeing these Nike Trainers hardcore. I mean, it’s my favorite color palette in a shoe! Oh and don’t ask me why those Tory Burch sandals look so small on the widget, lol!

SWIM/ACCESSORIES

I was a fan of one-piece swimsuits before they were a trend. These two below were my favorite from the sale. Can you imagine these light gold mirrored aviators with either one of those suits at the beach/pool? Instant summer chic!

JEWELRY

I LOVE ear crawlers so these rose gold ear crawlers are definitely on my list. Oh and this gold and black watch? Absolutely timeless. Yep. Pun intended.

BEAUTY

The biggest widget of them all because there are so many great deals! If you want to know if Neulash works, it does. I’ve tried it. You just have to keep it up and you’ll see results. Since I love Neulash, I’m thinking of trying the Neubrow serum too because this Asian girl with sparse eyebrows needs it. I thought about getting the T3 blowdryer, but I found it for cheaper at Costco ($89) this past weekend so I’ll be getting it there! You’re welcome!

STOCK UP

I made the mistake of not buying Spanx when they were on super sale when The Limited was closing. (I know, Rachel. Yes, you were right.) Not this time. I’m going for nude shorts and black shorts in different lengths because I prefer to wear “bikers” under my dresses. Yeah, I have a fear that Mother Nature will blow my skirt/dresses up one day and I definitely don’t want the whole world to see my nether regions, ha!

I hope you enjoyed today’s short 2017 Nordstrom Anniversary Sale post and that you see the originality of it. If you don’t, that’s okay too. I know I’m being original and I like it.

If you feel inclined to gush about what you got from the sale, go ahead! I’ll be more than happy to get giddy with you in the comments below.

Okay, I’m signing off and going to my happy place now (which is watching Lydia Millen’s YouTube channel). Happy Friday!

I love that cream cable knit peplum sweater!!! It’s so beautiful and classic. Also jumpsuits….I have never worn one. Is that bad?! I have tried them on with shorts (not the full pants version) and they just are not flattering on my mid section. Perhaps I need to try again. Oh actually I did buy one from Victoria’s Secret as a bathing suit cover up. hahaha. It works! Especially for the honeymoon 🙂

Love!!! I’m sooo sorry I missed your comment! I know! I love classic pieces like a cream sweater! What?! No way! I LOVE jumpsuits. I prefer them over rompers for sure. You should try them again, there are SO many styles out there and they’re definitely hit or misses depending on body type. I tried on a black one once and it did NOT look good. Loose-ish jumpsuits work best on me (I’ll do a post soon). I can’t wait to read your wedding tips series soon! xo
