Would you agree that one of the most painful feelings ever is feeling stuck? Although it is painful at times, I’m not talking about rush hour traffic, haha! In all seriousness, have you ever felt this way? Feeling like you’ll never get out of debt? Thinking, “Will school ever end?” Feeling like there’s more to life than what you’re doing right now? Just plain tired of whatever it is you’re tired of? Me too.
Years ago, Poppy’s message struck me straight in the heart. He said, “You know, when we’re new Christians, we ask God for many things. We ask Him to answer the many prayers we have because when they’re answered, we’re happy. One thing I’ve learned is that true happiness comes from serving the Lord and I’ve come to a point where if I’m not doing something for God, I’m not happy.” As soon as he finished that last sentence, I thought, “That’s TOTALLY me!” I’ve felt that way for a long time and after much prayer, He brought a wonderful opportunity to my doorstep along with amazing friends in a neat little package and I gladly signed for it. Why am I the happiest I’ve ever been? I took action because I no longer wanted to feel stuck.
Why is it that we still feel stuck when we’re presented with great opportunities to improve our financial situation, health and/or life? Why do we wince at the pain?
Part of the pain of feeling stuck is not doing something about it.
The thing is, we know that growth is painful and that change is painful too, which is why we don’t take action. However, I will tell you that the pain of growth and change is nothing as painful as staying stuck somewhere you don’t belong or want to be.
My challenge to you is to get up and just do something to never have that feeling of being stuck ever again.
Don’t wait until the pain is unbearable. Find a way because you deserve more.
Happy Monday!
