Welcome back to my Transformation Thursday series guys! And just like that, August is basically over. Cooler and cozy weather, scarves, boots, sweaters and candles, here we come!
Check out my finds for the month of August!
Article (2 Minute Read)
FTC Taking Another Look at Influencers and Sponsored Social Media Content – As a new “serious” blogger, I’m all about following the rules to make sure I’m doing things right. To me, it’s important to be professional and conduct my blog with genuineness and transparency. I thought this article was very helpful in terms of following the FTC rules when it comes to blogging and social media.
If you’re new, I advise you to look into the rules of the FTC and abide by them. It’s important that you be transparent through trust with your readers.
Sweat Tea LLC – I came across this website through Pinterest earlier this month and I thought it was very cool of Kirsten to provide services to help bloggers/creatives. I downloaded her brand pitch templates and can’t wait to use them as a guide when I work with brands! Go check her out! She is full of useful information!
Unroll.me – I’ve used this website for several years now and let me say that it’s a God-send! When you no longer want to be subscribed to newsletters (or get added to them by other companies), instead of going to the bottom of every email and hitting that unsubscribe link, you can unsubscribe in one sitting!
Clark.com – This is a great website for financial advice that was referred to me during my financial stewardship class I took earlier this year. They cover everything from purchasing cars to scams, credit and credit cards, so pretty much anything and everything under the sun. The best part is that they have guides within their website you can use from how to self-publish to discount fashion and designer clothing sites to investing. Not going to lie, you’ll probably get information overload when you see how much they have to offer. But it’s pretty neat that it’s all laid out for you to refer to anytime you need it!
Summit of Greatness – If you’re a regular around here on SSD, you’d know that I’m a huge fan of Lewis Howes and his School of Greatness podcast. I talk about him a lot here on the blog, so is it really that much of a surprise that I’d tell you about his event? His event, Summit of Greatness is in its second year. Held in his hometown of Columbus, OH, current leaders and his followers gather under one roof to learn, inspire, network and empower one another for three days.
Leaders in their own industries like Maria Sharapova, Brendon Burchard (saw him speak in person a few years ago), Mel Robbins (I learned about her five second rule from a CD in Success Magazine several years ago) and Les Brown (heard him speak before too, funny guy!) are among the speakers on the agenda along with more amazing leaders! Event is from 9/13 to 9/15 so get your tickets! If you can’t make it, there’s always next year because Lewis is making this an annual thing! You never know who you’re going to meet and how one event can change your life’s trajectory!
And that’s it for this month’s Transformation Thursday series! Happy Friday Eve!
