If you are brave enough to say goodbye, life will reward you with a new hello. —Paulo Coehlo
Not sure how I feel about my big milestone birthday today. And if I’m being honest, I’ve been thinking about my birthday since last year.
Yep, I was thinking about my 2025 milestone birthday since my last birthday.
Sounds weird, right?
Well, it feels weird to even type this out.
I have been reflecting quite a bit for the last several years. And the one question I knew I needed to answer by spring 2025 was: what is one major thing you can change before you hit your big milestone birthday in the fall?
I asked myself one more question: what is one thing you will not take into this next era of your life?
The funny thing, deep down, I already knew what my answer was. I was just waiting on a “sign” from God. If you’re a fellow believer, IYKYK, am I right?
While I’m not ready to talk about it yet, let’s just say that Jesus knows everything that’s going to happen before it happens.
He already saw what was coming, spoke to me about it and told me to begin preparing…in March 2024. And did I prepare! I read a years worth of Bible plans on transition, change, taking leaps, you name it.
Then the thing He spoke to me about happened in March 2025 with a plot twist! A plot twist I did not see coming that I questioned His plans.
I still trusted Him and made the change.
And in the end, His timing was perfect and everything fell into perfect place.
In this article, I share my thoughts about this next season as I celebrate a milestone birthday.
Whether we want it to or not, life and time is flying by. And if we’re not careful, we will find ourselves coasting versus living.
Again, I’m not sure how I feel about my big milestone birthday today.
A few things I do know?
I’m tremendously blessed.
Lots of physical and mental healing needs to take place.
Peace > everything else
More risks need to be taken.
Life is but a vapor.
God’s calling in my life is getting louder…
This next era cannot be ignored.
Are new seasons scary? Yes. Is it also exciting? Yes. Am I nervous? Yes. Being nervous about something just means you care about it.
While I tend to be cautious, I don’t think I can afford to live cautiously anymore…especially when time is ticking away.
The positive thing about aging is becoming clear on what does and doesn’t matter.
And I’m starting to see the line between the two clearer than ever.
How do you feel when you’re entering your next era after a big milestone birthday?
Let me know your thoughts in the comments! I’ll keep adding to this article as I reflect some more so keep checking back!
