What is the use of a house if you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on? —Henry David Thoreau
I cannot believe how fast October flew by! We’re officially cooling down here in Texas and that makes me oh so very excited!
I’ve been taking evening walks and made the mistake of wearing my APL slides. Definitely not cool weather shoes, haha! I’m so giddy for fall weather, sweaters, boots, fall candles, and all the autumn and Christmas decorating I’ll be doing!
And what better way to begin another brand new month than with another issue of The Cut? If you’re new here, The Cut is a monthly sustainable living series where I share eco-friendly brands I’ve recently discovered.
Let’s celebrate the new month by jumping into issue No. 21! I can’t wait to share with you about some great sustainable brands that you can incorporate into your lifestyle.
FASHION
Fashion is a large contributor to our landfills and pollution. To help our planet, here are some more great fashion brands you can purchase from and still do good.
I discovered Ernest Leoty on Instagram a month or so ago and love their activewear line!
Their product is strictly manufactured in Europe so you know their pieces are high-quality. I’m telling you, Europeans know branding, aesthetics, and quality. To find out that they’re focused on sustainability makes me so happy too!
Their entire collection is so simple and classic and if you know me, you know I love simple and classic! Not going to lie, if I was still in dance, I would most definitely wear their bodysuits!
You can order from FRWD, Yoox, LuisaViaRoma, and or directly from their website.
BEAUTY
Since I’m a huge beauty lover, I’m super excited to bring you more clean beauty brands I recently found that you can experiment with. Feel free to play with beauty with me!
I came across clean lifestyle brand, Modere earlier this year and have been LOVING their liquid collagen! Their entire collection, from household products to their skincare line, all have clean ingredients, eco-friendly, no animal testing, BPA-free packaging, and biodegradable product!
To be honest, I was skeptical, but I was looking already looking for some good collagen to take for a while now. One of my good friends told me about the brand this past spring so I gave it a shot. After taking the liquid collagen, a rash I had on my neck for months finally went away!
I’ve also tried out their Trim, Lean Body System, Burn (which is also a part of the Lean Body System package), and other products. And guys, it all works! If you have trouble going to the bathroom, Trim will be your best friend (TMI, I know). If you want to start releasing weight in a healthy way, the Lean Body System is it. By far, it’s the easiest system I’ve ever used because I never felt restricted with what I ate.
Next on my list is the double facial cleanser, PhytoGreens, and PhytoReds.

The holy grail of all beauty products is Dr. Teal’s. To me, this brand is so underrated!
I’ve been using them for many years, especially as a runner to soothe aching feet. I recently tried out their lavender foaming bath for my self-care days and it makes sleeping all the better.
You can shop Dr. Teal’s at Target, Ulta, HEB/your local grocery store, and other retailers.
LIFESTYLE
One of the biggest things I’ve started to do is to invest in items and services that are environmentally friendly. Here are my recent finds and don’t you worry, I’ll be sharing more eco-friendly and luxe brands pertaining to lifestyle as I find them!
When Jessi Malay opened her new home brand, Haven Namai, I couldn’t order fast enough!
These neutral candles are made in Los Angeles, California (yay for Made in the U.S.A!). They are hand-poured and are made of 100% soy and coconut wax (safe for children and your pets).
From the stunning color palette to the beautiful scents, I’m in heaven! Part of me doesn’t want to burn them because they’re so beautiful!!! Do yourself a favor and just order. You can thank me later!
You can shop Haven Namai candles directly on her website!
I discovered The Bouqs when I did a small partnership with them in 2018. And let me tell you guys, if you’re looking for a sustainable floral arrangements, delivery service, or flower subscription, they are it!
Not only do they partner with eco-friendly farms that minimize waste, recycle water, and use sustainable growing practices, but their flowers last so long! My bestie just sent me an arrangement from them for my birthday and they’re still going strong after two weeks! They also have holiday arrangements, plants, and dried flower bouquets!
You can shop their stunning florals selections directly on their website or at one of their five retail locations! Check out their segment on flower care too!
INFORMATIVE ARTICLES/SOURCES
To continue to keep you informed and make better choices for our planet, here are some fascinating sources and/or articles I found regarding sustainable living.
As you guys know, I’ve been working on switching over to eco-friendly beauty products, especially in the cruelty-free beauty category. I almost always look at labels before I buy a product now. In comes Leaping Bunny. You may have seen the Leaping Bunny label on some products you use. They go beyond letting you know which brands choose not to test on animals. They provide you with news and resources so you can educate yourself.
I’m not perfect by any means as I still have a lot to learn. If you’re in the same boat as me, don’t feel guilty. We don’t know what we don’t know. As you learn, start making a change because a lot of little changes add up to big differences. Here’s a shopping guide the Leaping Bunny team put together to guide you. And start checking your labels!
Have a look around their website and let me know your thoughts!
And that’s it for the sixth issue of The Cut for 2021!
What did you like most from today’s post? Feel free to comment and let me know if there is anything else you’d like to see in this series!
Note: Please note that there’s a website called The Cut that covers a ton of topics for women including fashion and beauty. My blog post series is in no relation to The Cut website as it only focuses on sustainable, more mindful way of living.
