Happy Tuesday, loves! When it comes to fashion, I love both ends of the spectrum: structured pieces or flowy fabrics. Fabrics that feel good against the skin are a major win in my book. When I came across this top, I knew I had to have it. And that says a lot because I’m very particular about what I want to add to my closet now. Stripes, check. Cotton fabric, check. Peplum style, double check. A layering effect to create ruffles? Yes, please!
Today, I wanted to show you how I styled my striped peplum top for a casual look. Lately, my style has been more laid back with some feminine touches. I knew this top would pair perfectly with my well-loved denim shorts so I also pulled out my Converse and trusty crossbody bag I got from F21 years ago. Surprisingly, this bag is still holding up very well considering it’s a fast fashion accessory.
I also came across these sunglasses when I was on the hunt for an Easter dress (which was a total fail, by the way) and loved how different they were from the cateye and wayfarer style I usually gravitate to. I felt so cool anddd…my nose held it up! Any pairs of sunglasses that can frame my face well on my non-bridge of a nose is a winner in my book!
As you can see, I was very comfortable on Easter weekend!
Anyway, I’m still looking for a great pair of dark wash distressed denim shorts. I ordered these cut off shorts from the Shopbop sale so I’m waiting for them to come in and am currently on the hunt for some great tops for spring and summer.
I’ll share a more dressed up look with this same top next week!
How was your weekend?!
This year, our adult Easter egg hunt lasted an hour. I ended up with $2 and a bunch of Nestle Crunch eggs, lol! On Sunday, we got to watch Sandi Patty and Larnelle Harris sing I’ve Just Seen Jesus via live stream from the Dallas campus (they were in Southlake). It was such a treat!
Sidenote, when these photos were taken, it was very windy. I’m lucky I got these shots when I did. I’ll post some outtakes throughout the day on my Instagram stories with #bloggerproblems, haha!
