For this week’s fashion-related post, let’s talk about swimwear! With hotter days around the corner, I thought I’d share some one-piece swimsuits with you!
I’ve always been a fan of one-piece swimsuits so I’m thrilled to see them trending this spring and summer. I feel that you can still wear conservative pieces without looking boring. Here are five things to look for when shopping for one-pieces:
Bright colors
Just because it’s a one-piece doesn’t mean it has to be boring! Choose a bright and summery color if the cut of the suit is simple. If you’re not gifted in the chest area like I am, this one-piece has a twist-front that creates an illusion of a fuller chest. I love that it comes in a bright pink and a bright mint green too!
Prints
Prints on clothes can be scary, but not when it comes to swimwear. I feel that you can get away with prints more when it comes to swimsuits. Mara Hoffman is a brand I love that makes super fun swimwear. Palm leaves have been growing on me lately so I think this bustier one-piece swimsuit is very fun and different! If you’re looking for something a bit more sexy yet feminine, this one-piece palm print cutout swimsuit is under $50. You’ll be ready to head somewhere tropical for sure!
Simple yet unique
If you’re a classic kind of gal, look for pieces that give off a hint of sophistication like this red bow-tie one piece swimsuit. Just add a pair of white-framed sunglasses and you’ll look like you walked out of a 1950s ad!
Of course, no swimwear recommendations can be without Marysia. Their signature scallops and texture is what I love about their line! If you’re more into bikinis, I loveee this blush bikini top and can see it paired with so many different colored bottoms: navy, black, white, tropical green, etc. I know this brand is pricey, but remember that swimwear can be an investment. If you’re going to be at the pool/beach a lot, why not invest in some beautiful pieces? #CostDividedByTimesPerWear
You can also shop Marysia swimsuits at a discount. The selection is small and sizing varies, but keep checking back because you’ll never know what you can score!
Details
When it comes to fashion, it’s all in the details for me. Swimwear included. That’s what makes pieces in your closet stand out even if it’s in a neutral color. Look for lace, buttons, bows, etc. For instance, the details on this beautiful white one-piece swimsuit is so pretty! If you don’t like white, it also comes in black and a mint green floral print.
Black
Last, but not least, a black swimsuit is a must in your swimwear collection! Black is so slimming and I love how it makes my skin look a bit more tan so that’s why it’s a plus, at least in my book! When looking at black pieces, look for gold hardware and the way it’s constructed in terms of silhouette for a luxe vibe. This one-piece swimsuit is very conservative yet unique with the crisscross style. I love it in white too!
I’ve been a fan long before the one-piece began trending this year and I’m glad I never swayed. Maybe it’s because I feel more comfortable and can be more active when I’m in a one-piece. Nevertheless, after today’s post, I hope you can see that one-piece swimsuits can be fun without looking matronly!
I’ve also linked lots of fun one-pieces in the widget below so check them out and let me know which ones you like best!
Have you purchased swimwear for any upcoming trips or for lounging by the poolside? I don’t own many (I think I have two or three) so it’s high time I add more to my collection! Who knows, maybe having a cute swimsuit collection will force me to teach myself how to swim, ha!
