Ahhh! Today is the first day of fall you guys!!! Even though the weather here in Texas states otherwise, I’m SO freaking excited!!! I know it may be a blogger thing to say that fall is our favorite season, but it’s my favorite season. Yep, it beats winter, spring and summer too. I know, sue me. I’d rather be bundled up in some jeans, a sweater and boots than to sweat to death wearing shorts, ha!
Anyway, one of my favorite things about fall is getting all cozy and comfy on the couch to read a good book or watch a movie. I’m not too into shows because of two reasons: 1) I don’t have cable to keep up with shows and 2) I sincerely think that every time I get into a show, it gets canceled. I’m sure the reason why Game of Thrones has been running as long as it as is because I’m not watching it, lol!
To end the week, I wanted to share with you my top 10 favorite movies! I’m not giving away any plots so you can see them yourself!
In no particular order…
-
Schindler’s List
Quite possibly my favorite movie ever. You’ll never find another movie packed with drama, love, hate, hope, sadness, happiness and a little bit of humor all rolled into a little over three hours.
-
Ratatouille
Definitely can put this movie on in the background when I’m cleaning or cooking (no pun intended, but I’ll take the credit for it), haha!
-
Emperor’s New Groove
Probably my favorite non-Disney classic Disney movie. Chica and her kids are my favorite, ha! Has it really been 17 years since this movie has been released?!
-
Home Alone
My favorite Christmas movie. It’s a rule of mine to watch this at least once during the holiday season. I probably could watch this every single day right after it’s acceptable to start celebrating Christmas.
-
V for Vendetta
Not going to lie. I thought this movie was epic the first time I saw it. Additionally, I also thought that this could very well happen all over the world one day.
-
Count of Monte Cristo
SO good. Saw it once years ago so I definitely have to make time to watch this movie again this fall! Can’t say much more because you have to see it.
-
Amadeus
I was first introduced to this movie in one of my music classes while I was in college. It was that good that I made my best friend watch it with me a few months later. So sad yet so good at the same time…
-
Sound of Music
Here’s the honest truth about this one. My best friend has talked about this musical our entire 14 years of friendship. I made fun of her for loving “old school” movies and musicals throughout those 14 years of our friendship. I finally saw Sound of Music just this year. Although I thought there could’ve been a better closer to the ending, it was better than I thought. No more making fun of my bestie, lol!
-
A Christmas Story
Same thing for this movie too. However, I had good reason to make fun of my best friend. I hated this movie the first time I saw it. Over time, this Christmas classic has grown on me and I have to see it at least once during the holiday season.
-
Moana
I know. Another “cartoon” movie. In the words of Shawn Mendes, “Well, I don’t care!” Anyway, I finally saw this movie this summer after hearing everyone talk about it and dude, I legit cried like a baby during one scene. Talk about a movie that incorporates girl power, womanhood, courage, empowerment, identity and heritage! Can’t say much more, sorry!
Obviously there’s more, but these were the ones that were at the top of my head when I wrote this post, so this is what you get, ha!
What about you?
What are your favorite movies to watch of all time or even for fall?
Feel free to give me some great movie recommendations below! I don’t watch romantic movies much and definitely don’t watch stupid comedy ones (ie. Anchorman, Austin Powers, etc.) because I just can’t get into them.
