We read to know that we are not alone. ― C.S. Lewis
One of the top fall things one can do is cozy up with a mug of a hot drink of some kind and a book.
Add some soft music in the background and this is the ultimate dream scenario for this homebody, that’s for sure!
Seriously, what better way to welcome fall weather than to curl up in bed or on the couch with a fluffy blanket, a drink in hand, and all the books you want to read?
That said, I want to share my 2023 fall reading list!
Even though it’s incredibly hot outside, I’m hoping that by sharing my 2023 fall reading list, the weather will cool down quickly. I’m looking forward to lighting a candle and cuddling up in a cozy blanket with one of these books!
MOVING MOUNTAINS BY JOHN ELDREDGE
Prayer is something I need to greatly improve upon and after reading Beautiful Outlaw years ago, I knew I had to grab this copy to add to my fall list.
With the times we’re living in, my prayer life needs to be leveled up considerably. To me, prayer is powerful. It’s even more powerful when it comes from someone who walks incredibly close to Jesus.
I’ve experienced Him answer my prayers. Sometimes right away and sometimes, years later. Nonetheless, He is always faithful. And I’ve got prayer journals to prove it. Personally, I think the prayers of a woman of God can bring about big miracles. Miracles that will have a ripple effect, beginning with her family. Then watch it spread into her community, then the very nation she lives in, and eventually throughout the world.
I never underestimate the power of prayer because I know God listens. And because I know He also likes to show off, ha!
CHAZOWN BY CRAIG GROESCHEL
For the last several months, I’ve been studying confidence and self-confidence. After doing some inner work, I realized that something is inevitable: finding one’s purpose in life. I feel like once I know my purpose, like know it, I will be extremely successful as I look to combine my gifts/talents with my purpose to serve others well.
Pastor Craig Groeschel truly has a way with words so I grabbed this book one weekend after church services to add to my fall reading. Also, his latest book, Winning the War in Your Mind, is AMAZING if you’re looking for another book of his to read and implement practical steps right away.
THE 16 UNDENIABLE LAWS OF COMMUNICATION BY JOHN C. MAXWELL
If you’ve been around here long, you know I’m a huge fan of the topic of leadership. And who better to learn from than the John Maxwell?
As my degree is in communication studies, I knew I had to nab his latest book to add to my fall reading list. John never disappoints and the fruits of his work prove it. I’ve also seen him speak in person over the past decade at various business events and let me tell you, what a treat! To have his books as a resource in my own home is an honor!
If you’re looking for another book of his to read, I highly recommend
CHAMELEON BY REMI ADELEKE
My friend, Remi, is so accomplished! He is a former Navy Seal who is now an actor, production company owner, filmmaker, and founder of KEJO, a clothing company. He is also a best-selling author!
If you’ve read his first book, Transformed, you know it was good. It’s safe to say that Remi is a fantastic writer so it was a no-brainer that I added his latest book to my fall stack!
And that’s it for my 2023 fall reading list! If you want to, feel free to choose one of the books above and join me! And if you’re interested, here’s my personal library you can check out!
What’s on your 2023 fall reading list?
I’d love to hear about your favorite books so please leave me recommendations in the comments below!
