“Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.” —Lamentations 3:23
This particular 2025 spring reflections article will be one I’ll remember for the rest of my life. Why? God spoke to me around this time last year.
I know. I’ll go into some more detail below in a bit!
If you’re new here and want to get to know me better or have known me awhile, but are just interested in getting updates of my personal life, I hope you’ll read this entire article as I’ve enjoyed putting it together.
As I age, I feel like each spring season goes by faster than the previous season. It’s like I do not get enough time to enjoy what the season has to offer. The trees and flowers that bloom once a year such as our state flower, the Bluebonnet, more sunshine, birds chirping, and cooler weather seems very fleeting.
And since we’re nearly at the official end of spring, I’m taking it all in because I just have an inkling that this summer will come at me fast and furiously.
Before we welcome summer soon, I wanted to share my 2025 spring reflections and life updates.
THIS SPRING, I…
WATCHED
Acorn has been my go-to to escape my work life this season! I’ve been slowly watching my way through mystery shows and period dramas such as Dalgliesh, Murdoch Mysteries (which is amazing by the way!), The Brokenwood Mysteries, The Chelsea Detective, Inspector Ellis, Signora Volpe, and The Madame Blanc Mysteries.
This summer, I want to unwind with Foyle’s War, Art Detectives, and Mystery Road.
To be honest, it feels a little weird to not watch another category of television. However, I will say, my best friend’s dad has been wanting to watch the latest season of Reacher. So I’ll definitely be adding it to my summer list! I thought the first season was fantastic so if you haven’t seen it, do it!
On a deeper level, I’ve thoroughly enjoyed watching one of God’s greatest creations: sunsets.

READING
This spring, I switched gears and took my time reading Moving Mountains: Praying with Passion, Confidence, and Authority by John Eldredge. And it was so good that I’m reading it again this summer.
I stopped these books and decided to move them to the fall: Dare to Lead: Brave Work. Tough Conversations. Whole Hearts. by Brene Brown, High Performance Habits: How Extraordinary People Become That Way by Brendon Burchard, and You Deserve to Be Rich: Master the Inner Game of Wealth and Claim Your Future by Rashad Bilal and Troy Millings.

PLAYING
I’ve been working through Highlights Activity Books and playing a lot of Goods Sorting to keep my brain active.
Playing with my brother’s puppies counts too, right? Pictured below is Louis (as in Louis Vuitton, ha!). Not pictured, Leo.

EATING/DRINKING
Food-wise, since it’s been getting hotter, I’ve been eating so many salads at home!
Occasionally, I’ll eat out at my favorite places: Bushi Bushi, Dock Local, and Pho Palace.
I’ve also been drinking a lot of water with electrolyte peptides to stay hydrated. I loved the tropical flavor so much that I had to start rationing my box as it sold out so fast! Oops! Milk tea with boba is also my favorite “drink treat” on hot days.
While I’m not much of a fruit person (I only like a handful of various fruits), Sprouts had a cherry theme that I could not resist! I ended up getting two pounds this season, ha!

WEARING
Since I work from home, I’m living in my J. Crew pajama shorts and lightweight t-shirts. On weekends, I wear my favorite AG denim shorts, a cute tee or top and of course, APLs. VERY heavily.
I also have some linen pieces I just added to my wardrobe (finally!) for summer that I cannot wait to wear!

BUYING
As the British would say, I got quite a bit of “bits and bobs” for myself this season!
Some beauty newness includes Patrick Ta blushes, Dior foundation, and Hourglass brushes. The rest were restocks of my beauty favorites.
Since I had a ton of points, I also bought some APL Zipline sneakers. Hey, if I can’t go to Amalfi, I’m bringing it to me!
Speaking of, I may be traveling this summer so I thought this canvas tote was too cute to pass up during a sale.
Anddd after working many overtime hours this past spring season, I also caved and gifted myself my first pair of Chanel flats! I just need to get them to a cobbler to have a protective sole put on them before wearing them this fall.

LISTENING
This past season, during Fashion Month, I listened to Lords of Corruption on repeat per usual.
And I’ve been binging Rotten Mango on YouTube to follow the Diddy case. Let me tell you, it is not for the weak. Her videos over an hour or two long each! Stephanie’s journalism style and her team are top notch!
PLANNING
On a more serious note, I may be planning the next chapter of my life career-wise. We’ll see what happens.
On the health side, I am planning on learning more about natural healing like how to incorporate God’s creations such as herbs into my cooking and what tinctures heal what in the body. Stuff like that.

LOOKING FOR
Honestly, I’m looking for time to disconnect. A LOT of time. Lately, I’ve been wanting to step back from all the calls, texts, and notifications in life!
I’m also looking for opportunities to bless/support others whether it’s with my words, money or time. Praying over the studs of this home that was going to a family down south is a great example.

LOOKING FORWARD TO
The next chapter of my career and what I want to do. More on this later.
I am also looking forward to posting more outfits depending on what happens with my career decision.

LOVING
I’ve been loving flowers, flowers, and more flowers! I love them so much that I decided to start my Instagram stories with a greeting using a floral photo I’ve shot like the ones below.
I’m also LOVING that peony season is back, yay!

THINKING ABOUT
I’ve been thinking a lot about my personal life. Things like my living situation and future relationships are on my mind. Do I want a house or apartment? What are the pros and cons of both? Do I want to go to another church? Am I going to meet my future husband at church? And this year at that? Who is he going to be? Will new people I meet become my friends? Ooo, I need to get out there and network more.
Another thing I’ve been thinking about is personal branding. What is my personal style? What message do I want to convey? How do I want to help others with the skills I do have?
HATING
I hated that I lost a lot of my co-workers due to a massive layoff at my day job. I’ve formed so many relationships being at my job for over a decade and it hurt to see such talented people be forced out of their positions. I cried a ton over it.
On a different note, if you know me, you know I’m still hardcore-hating self-check out lines. No, I do not want to work hard to come to your store to spend my hard-earned money to do a job you can hire someone else for (who actually needs a job). Get out of here with that nonsense!
‘Hate’ is a strong word, so let’s use ‘dislike’ as our word for this next topic. I dislike weak men. I cannot stand seeing males complain on social media about women being gold diggers. Look, I’m sorry some of you men got burned. However, not all women are like that. Some of us actually love masculine men. Oh, and if men going to generalize women, I’ll just say this and drop the mic.
It’s not our fault men can’t/won’t provide. Men want to take us out, but want to split 50/50 on the bill? Newsflash, my manicure I paid for costs more than the entire meal. Note that I didn’t include my makeup and my outfit.
Also, men think a dinner is an even trade to get into our pants? What?!
Here’s a cold-hard fact: high caliber women are already making their own money. We’re also already working out and taking care of ourselves, our parents, traveling and doing nearly all of the above. We can do it. Just because I can change a tire or hang a television doesn’t mean I want to. Most good women are single because they are choosing the peace they’ve created over unnecessary chaos. I can write a whole article about this topic so I’ll stop here.
SLACKING ON
Yep, it’s still sleep. And I’m just barely catching up on it now after losing so much of it during Fashion Month!
STRUGGLING WITH
I struggle with taking breaks from staring at my phone/laptop. While I am getting better at it somewhat, I’m actually researching on a no bluetooth, no-wifi, regular alarm clock so I can leave my phone in another room when I sleep.
IMPROVING
My water intake could be better, but it has improved. Lifting weights at the gym has significantly improved for me. I’m getting stronger and can see/feel it! Yay!!!
THINKING ABOUT…SPRING 2025 LESSONS
This past spring, I learned that even though God says something is going to happen, a “plot twist” can happen. Will you waver in your faith or will you stay rock solid knowing He’s got you no matter what happens?
Outside of my day job, I don’t feel like I accomplished much in this spring in my personal life. And I know without a doubt it’s because I’m burned out.
Let’s catch up with each other! Update me and let me know what’s going on with you as of late in the comments below!
