Learning to Celebrate More
Do you celebrate everything, even little achievements? I can honestly say that I don’t.After a workout, I just pack up my stuff and head out the door. After a hitting a milestone with my blog or getting a great opportunity, I thank God for His blessings, but I don’t really celebrate them.
Lately, I’ve been learning to celebrate more. Whether it’s finishing a workout session, completing a 5K race 30 seconds earlier or just finishing a project, I celebrate. I’m working on celebrating more not just for myself, but teaching my friends and family to do the same.
If you don’t celebrate often, keep reading. My hope is to change your mind and lifestyle.
WHY IT’S IMPORTANT TO CELEBRATE MORE
Celebrating yourself is celebrating your abilities, achievements, and milestones, but most importantly, when you celebrate those things, you celebrate YOU, the fearfully and wonderfully made YOU that this world needs.
When you celebrate you, you celebrate life because you are ALIVE and blessed. You are here for a purpose and are worthy of the good things in life!
HOW TO CELEBRATE
You can learn to celebrate more by praising God/thanking the universe for the good things coming your way. For me, when something great happens, I stop in that moment and thank God for it.
Telling your friends and going out for dinner/drinks with them is a great way to celebrate. Going on a trip, getting your hair/nails done, or buying some new clothes are other great ideas. Something as small as a high-five or as big as booking a cruise makes it all worth the work.
Personally, I’ve recently decided that once I hit a career milestone, I’m going to treat myself to a luxury purchase.
LEARNING TO CELEBRATE
I’m getting better at celebrating everything, but there’s always room for improvement. Whether you believe in God or the universe, celebrating everything is a way to be grateful for the blessings you’ve been given and the blessing YOU are to others and the world.
So celebrate yourself with me! I’ll start.
This photo in today’s post is part of the article I was featured in a few weeks ago by Voyage Dallas Magazine called, “The Trailblazers: Rewriting the Narrative” and I’m so proud to be sharing my story.
I’ve come a long way so I can be proud of myself! It’s my hope that my story will help/mentor someone else. A huge thank you to Voyage Dallas for my second feature!
Your turn! What’s one thing you’re celebrating today?!
