“Always dress well but keep it simple.” —Jared Tomas
One of my favorite things about the holidays is seeing people dress up more. Talk about adding to my joy!
Of course, the holiday dress code theme depends on the situation and if you’re attending a party, who’s hosting and if they have a theme.
For me, when I get the chance to host a holiday party, I’d want everyone to come decked out at least once in our friendship!
That said, I wanted to share some outfit ideas for the holidays if you’re looking for some inspiration!
DRESSY HOLIDAY OUTFIT
The sure-fire way to dress for a dressy holiday party is a fun little black dress, gold earrings, and a red manicure if you want a pop of festive color. Another way you can dress up would be a red sweater dress (gotta stay warm!) and some over-the-knee boots or sandals if you want to dress up even more.
Finish off either look with a sleek or bubble ponytail. Don’t be afraid to glam up your makeup look with winged eyeliner and red lips!
CASUAL CHRISTMAS OUTFIT
My idea of a casual holiday outfit would be black coated jeans with a red top and gold hoop earrings. If I want to go more casual, plain jeans in a darker wash with a black embellished top with double pearl earrings and call it a day!
Go for a holiday makeup look by creating a smokey eye and cherry-stained lips. As for hair, some loose waves is ideal so you can wear it down or pulled back into a casual ponytail. Finish off either look with a pair loafers or booties and you’re good to go!
COMFY HOLIDAY OUTFIT
If the host or hostess insists on a super comfortable holiday outfit, I’d still like to be put together somewhat.
And that can go one of two ways: 1) nice pair of fun pajamas, diamond studs, and a red manicure and 2) A fun and/or modern sweat suit. Go for a no makeup makeup look, hair in a pony or low bun and finish off either look with a pair of casual sneakers or white sneakers!
Whatever your situation or personal style is, I hope this article gives you a bit of inspiration if you’re needing outfit ideas this holiday season!
