Let me preface by saying that I did make an effort by curling my hair for these photos, haha! However, my shiny and wavy hair quickly went flat and dull as these photos were taken in the freezing cold this past weekend. Yes, the wind helped and don’t let my smile fool you. I was FREEZING, lol!
Onto the great news!
Friends, readers and supporters, I’m so thrilled to write this post to officially mark the one year blogiversary of She Sweats Diamonds! Actually, my blogiversary was one month ago today, but I missed it because I was sick with the flu. Now that I’m back to normal, I thought it was be proper to write a blog post to tell you thank you.
Thank you so much for all of your support. Thank you for commenting, clicking on my links and even making purchases so that I may make a small commission. And even if you didn’t purchase anything, thank you for reading. I love this blog so much and because of you stopping by to read my small part of the interwebs or to see what I’m up to, it means the world.
I seriously can’t believe that we’re celebrating SSD’s one year blogiversary and I couldn’t have done it without each and every one of you.
My blog may just be a website to some, but to me, it’s my little baby. It’s a place where I can share what I love and write about what’s currently on my heart.
For years, I blogged on and off mainly because I didn’t believe in myself more. A year ago, I realized that the many bloggers who started at the same time as I did become incredibly successful because of their persistence. I was filled with regret that I didn’t persist. Instead of working hard myself, I watched these women progress while I was at a standstill.
I also regretted caring too much about what strangers thought and not being consistent with what I truly wanted to do.
As I studied more of the Lord’s word these last several years, I learned what He had to say about my identity. The more I learned, the more my confidence in myself grew. Those who DMed me to ask for style advice also gave me the courage to take the plunge one year and one month ago today. For you to think of me to ask for fashion advice means so much!
Honestly, I still regret taking blogging seriously at a time where the industry wasn’t so saturated. Even though it’s super saturated now, I’m not going to let that stop me. Frankly, I like the challenge. I’ve always been different and want to continue to challenge myself to stay unique yet relevant. To be a unique blogger in a saturated market along with social media challenges? Bring it on!
Although I still have much to learn as a professional blogger, it’s my hope to make a full-time income from this blog someday.
However, for me, it’s not always about the fashion and beauty. It’s more about the real things and experiences in life. I can only hope that I do a great job for you to feel that this is a place where you can feel human. My main goal of this blog is to make SSD a safe place where we can talk about anything and everything. Yes, fashion and beauty included!
I’m so happy I took the leap to do what I really love and use my gifts. Within this last year, I’ve grown so much as a person and blogger and thank you so much for coming along for the ride! And trust me when I say that I seriously can’t wait for what’s on the horizon! I have so much planned for SSD this year and I can’t wait to see it all unfold!
Lastly, to the brands who have supported me, thank you! Thank you for your partnership and for believing in me! It’s been so amazing to build a relationship and work with each of you!
And again, thank you SO much to everyone for making She Sweats Diamonds‘ one year blogiversary possible!
