“One of the secrets of a happy life is continuous small treats.” —Iris Murdoch
Hey loves! I’m so excited for today’s article! If you know me, you know that I love to educate others!
Today’s topic? Sweet tooth recipes! If you have followed me for the last couple of years, you may be thinking, “Um, aren’t you a health enthusiast, Huong?”
Yep, I’m all about healthy living. I’m here to tell you that if you’re thinking this, you don’t have to give up your favorite foods! You just have to learn to eat them in a different and healthy way.
It’s important to be aware of what you put into your body and what food does to it. I firmly believe that balance is just as important to avoid binging and will advise my clients to ease themselves into their health transformations with baby steps.
That brings me to today’s topic: healthy recipes to satisfy your sweet tooth!
Consider these recipe finds your “baby steps” if you’re on a health journey. I promise getting healthy and in shape (summer is coming!) won’t sound so bad after you see these delicious recipes.
Check out my guilt-free sweet tooth recipes I’ve found across the interwebs below! You’re oh so welcome! And yeah, I’m pretty sure they’re that delicious.
ACAI GRANOLA BREAKFAST POPSICLES BY LAUREN CARIS COOKS
I came across Lauren through a newsletter feature on BlogLovin’ and had to click because of ‘açaí’ and because of “breakfast popsicles,” ha! With warmer weather coming in just a few months, why not file away these healthy popsicles for a yummy treat? I mean, if eating popsicles for breakfast is wrong, we’re no longer friends. I don’t support that kind of mentality!
CHOCOLATE AVOCADO MOUSSE BY COOK REPUBLIC
The best chocolate mousse I’ve ever had was from Iron Cactus in downtown Dallas a few years ago. I know, it’s a weird dessert to have on the menu for a Mexican restaurant, but hey, I had a sweet tooth craving! When I came across this decadent recipe on Pinterest, I stopped dead in my tracks. Chocolate avocado mousse? Okayyyy, you have my attention!
5-INGREDIENT MAGICAL FUDGESICLES BY MY NEW ROOTS
One of my favorite cold treats growing up was fudgesicles so when beautiful images of this healthy dessert recipe filled up my laptop screen, it brought back so many memories! Of all the sweet tooth recipes I’m sharing today, this will be one of the first I’ll be attempting to make.
Warning, mine may not come out as beautiful as Sarah’s! Side note: isn’t fudgesicle fun to say? lol
RAW VEGAN STRAWBERRY CASHEW FROZEN CAKE BY MADELINE LU
I’ve been following Madeline on my personal Instagram for a few years now so it was a no-brainer to include her in today’s post! I’m doing a disservice if I don’t share this gorgeous, reach-through-the-screen-can-I-haz frozen cake recipe.
Because strawberries are my favorite fruit, I’m stoked to try and make this to bring to a future dinner party! In my opinion, I can already tell this will be a great dessert for upcoming summer months! Did I mention it’s vegan?!
PEANUT BUTTER BANANA CHIA OATMEAL by EATING BIRD FOOD
Since breakfast is an important part of the day, I wanted to include a filling oatmeal recipe from Brittany. First of all, if you love the peanut butter/banana combo, this breakfast recipe has your name all over it!
Secondly, if you don’t snack between breakfast and lunch (which you should), this recipe will help with hunger pangs. Speaking of, I love how she included chia seeds for a small superfood serving to keep you feeling full!
RASPBERRY-APPLE COMPTE PARFAIT BY NADIA DAMASO
You may have seen Nadia on the blog before from my post about unique avocado toast ideas. I mean, have you seen her Instagram? I wanted to include her healthy parfait recipe because I used to eat a lot of parfaits from McDonald’s while I was in college. ::Insert see no evil monkey emoji here LOL::
Obviously McDonald’s yogurt parfaits are not healthy (19g of sugar in a tiny cup – what the heck?), but to the college me, eating that was better than having donuts and Starbucks that came in those glass bottles. ::smacks forehead:: What was I thinking?!
Side note, I cannot wait to order English version of her cookbook (under $20!) and make her recipes!
CHOCOLATE MATCHA LOAF BY ELSA’S WHOLESOME LIFE
You guys, this seriously is a chocolate matcha cake. Hey, don’t blame me. Blame Elsa! When I decided to check out her blog, I about fell out of my chair when I saw this cake recipe on her site. I think it’s too pretty to eat!
You think that’s icing you see? Nope, it’s yoghurt. Yep. yo-ghurt. I know what you’re thinking, “Never thought never thought of eating cake with yoghurt before!” Yeah, me too.
First of all, for those of you who are working on transforming your health, keep going! It’s a big deal to do what you do because it’s not an easy journey. You are loving yourself by taking care of the only place you have to live. Secondly, I hope this post helps you change your perspective on food.
Furthermore, I want you to understand that you don’t have to give up what you love, especially sweets. Rather, learn to eat your favorite desserts in a new and healthier way.
It’s all about changing your lifestyle.
Because mindset is important for successful and permanent changes, I wanted you to see that healthy desserts like these do exist.
Additionally, I wanted to share unique recipes that would satisfy your sweet tooth. Since routines can be boring, I was specific in choosing recipes to keep you on track while keeping things interesting in the kitchen.
All things considered, this was such a fun blog post to put together for you!
Which guilt-free sweet tooth recipes will you be trying?!
For me, I’ll be trying ALL of them in the coming months! I mean, can you blame me?
Email this post to a sweet friend (see what I did there?) who’s looking for healthy recipes and don’t forget to pin away!
