Shopping is cheaper than therapy.
Hey guys! Happy Monday!
I always like it when bloggers share their hauls and give a little review about the items they’ve purchased. So for today, consider this post a short review of my mini haul from the Nordstrom Anniversary sale.
I know you don’t want to hear anymore about this sale and I feel you. That’s why this is my second and last post about it, ha! Anyway, let’s get started!
Diptyque candles (Sold out)
I saw this brand of candles from almost every blogger over the years, but thought it was just a “blogger thing” so I didn’t try to seek out the brand. A few months ago, I met a brand rep while I was out shopping who educated me on their candles. I didn’t walk away with anything because I wasn’t entirely sold yet. I couldn’t justify $60-something for a single candle…until I purchased this mini candle set. As soon as I opened the cellophane, I was hit with the most strong and beautiful scents!
The reviews are right. The candles were smaller than I expected, but let me tell you, they pack a punch! So far, I’ve burned the Tubereuse scent and it smells amazing! For small, votive candles, they last quite a while! According to their website, these tiny votive candles can burn up to 30 hours! I believe it because I’m still not done with my first one! I’ll do an updated post later in the fall and let you know what I think of the other scents!
Zella Live-In High Waist Leggings (Fully in stock; On Sale: $35.90, After sale: $54.00)
These leggings were my first purchase of the sale. I missed them last year so I thought I would just buy a pair to replace some super old leggings I threw away recently. Truthfully, I wasn’t impressed with them right out of the package. The material felt kind of weird to me, but I’ve never owned moisture-wicking leggings so I figured it was worth keeping to try out.
The inseam is long on me (I’m 5′ 3″ with a usual 30″ inch pant inseam for reference), but nothing I can’t handle. Let’s see if I’ll live in (pun intended) these leggings come fall and winter! I’ll report back when I do an outfit post with them!
Nike Focus Flyknit Trainers (Sold out in this color; On sale: $89.90; After sale: $120)
If you remember my original post, I talked about how I was eyeing these babies. Yeah, well, I eyed them too long and my size was sold out during early access. However, when the public sale started, my fingers flew like crazy at 2am! I was able to nab these within seconds of sizes being sold out!
This is my fourth pair of Nike’s Free style trainers so I know I’m going to love these! If you like lightweight shoes when working out, check out this line from Nike. Oh, if you want a review, let me know because I’ll definitely be putting them to the test in NYC! Keep an eye out for an athleisure look from me in the coming months too!
Sidenote, I’m also dying for these sick kicks in pink from Nike as well as these APL Techloom Phantoms! Hey, I love my sneakers!
UGG Wrin Rib-Knit & Genuine Shearling Slippers (On sale: $79.90; After sale: $119.95)
These UGGs are my first and most likely will be my only pair from the brand because I can’t stand the boots that college girls wear with shorts in the winter. I tried it on in store and man alive, these things feel so amazing on my feet! I go through house slippers really quick, so I nabbed these in grey (I wanted the cream, but I went for these because they can be kept cleaner way longer) on a whim and don’t regret it one bit. Fall and winter need to hurry up because I can’t wait to use these in the coming months!
These slippers really do run small like the reviews say. I’m an 8 in shoes so I sized up to a 9 and they fit just fine!
Spanx Lounge-Hooray! Mid-Thigh Shorts (S left in black; S and XL left in Sandcastle Color; S, M, XL left in Ink Blue; On sale: $21.90, After sale: $34)
Since I missed my chance to buy Spanx when they were on major sale during The Limited’s going-out-of-business sale, I wasn’t about to pass up my first pair of Spanx anything. I ordered the small in both black and sandcastle and as soon as I opened the package, I was disappointed. They looked extremely small for someone who is a size 6/8 in pants (right now). After trying them on, surprisingly, they fit! They don’t suck in everything, but they do smooth everything out which is what I was looking for originally.
These do roll when I sit down, but they’re the perfect “bikers” to wear underneath dresses for me so I’m a happy with them.
I was very underwhelmed with the selection this year, so I only shopped for things I truly needed with one splurge (which were the candles). To be honest, I don’t like buying clothes from massive sales like this because I don’t want to look like everyone else so I hope you enjoyed my off-the-blogger-train items I got from the sale!
SHOP THE PRODUCTS:
Did you shop the Nordstrom Anniversary sale? If so, what did you get?
What did y’all do this past weekend? I got my hair cut, met up with my good friends (hadn’t seen them in almost a year), picked up a free lipstick from MAC for their #NationalLipstickDay promotion (made lots of friends while waiting in line, haha!) and helped my mom with stuff around her house. Oh and I experienced quite possibly the best church service ever. The worship was so beautiful and the message was the icing on the cake! Check out this message from Pastor Jimmy Evans!
Disclosure: This post is NOT sponsored by Nordstorm nor was I gifted any of these products. I purchased these products with my own money because I either wanted them or wanted to try them out.
