Can you believe Thanksgiving is next week already?! I feel like I have so much to do, but on the brightside, I already started shopping for Christmas! Yay for getting a head start! Now let’s see if I end up falling behind later on, haha!
A lot has happened since my first and last life update. For starters, Texas has kissed and made up with Mother Nature because we’ve been getting cooler weather lately. I’ve been enjoying fall fashion and curling up with blankets when I’m home. Now, I just need to get a few new cozy pajama sets and I’ll be set for the rest of the season!
AS OF LATE, I’VE BEEN…
WATCHING
Everybody Loves Raymond reruns have been my life! I started watching reruns mid-October and really forgot just how funny this show was. One episode totally “predicted” the future too! It was a scene with the whole family seeing their priest after Michael writes a story about the “mean family” and Marie talks about how kids get awards for participation rather than working hard. That scene definitely caught my attention!
Still watching Love It or List It and it’s still frustrating to watch. Again, couples want it all, but for some reason, they can’t understand that the majority of their budget will go to the kitchen and bathroom. So they’re wondering why nothing on their list can be done. I’m telling you, there were SO many face smack emoji moments.
We haven’t watched The Crown lately, but Person of Interest has been AMAZING! I’m a huge fan of Jim Caviezel since his The Count of Monte Cristo and Passion of the Christ days. And the storyline just got even BETTER! I heard he’s working on a second Passion of the Christ movie so it’ll be nice to see him on the big screen again!
For movies, we watched Coco again for Halloween and rewatched the first movie of The Mummy series. Superhero movies are on pause right now, but next up should be Thor! Now that I think about it, I haven’t watched too many movies lately. However, that will change in the coming months, ha!
READING
Currently, for self-help, I put a pause on re-reading Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. But I’ve finished Lords of Corruption by Kyle Mills and just finished reading it again, Red Key Revolution: Redefining Success for a Life of Significance by my friend, Jordan Kemper (so proud of you!) and No More Mr. Nice Guy! by Robert Glover.
I’m still on Beautiful Outlaw by John Eldridge with my small group at church. And for leisure, I’m on book two of a fantasy series through Audible called The Sword of Truth by Terry Goodkind.
PLAYING
Still helping Rachel navigate through Assassin’s Creed. Sadly, I can’t find the cord that goes to my Playstation yet! In terms of beauty, I’m playing around with more skincare and makeup products so that’s been fun! That means more beauty reviews coming your way soon!
EATING/DRINKING
Chicken and boiled eggs have been my life as of late. The coffee has increased (like I’m even mad about that, haha) and I’m working on intaking more water. Spindrift lemon has been my go-to for sparkling water.
WEARING
I’ve been rewearing my favorite Burberry trench, leopard coat and old Sam Edelman boots on repeat these last few weeks. During the evenings, I’m living in my gym clothes right after work.
BUYING
Sad to say, but I haven’t had time to properly shop for the season. I’m hoping to in a few weeks because I’m in desperate need for some tops, new work pants, a pair of flats and a few pairs of booties. However, I did drop some money at the eye doctor to get a back up pair of glasses to wear at home. I also treated myself to a few nice pairs of sunglasses which you’ll see in future outfit posts. For beauty, I got myself this rose quartz facial roller, hauled some products from the Sephora holiday sale and already got started on my Christmas list!
LISTENING
Music-wise, I downloaded Lauren Daigle’s newest album, Look Up Child and just got Gateway’s new worship album, Greater Than. Podcast-wise, Jenna Kutcher‘s Goal Digger episode #177: The Entrepreneur’s Guide to SEO: How-to, Hacks, and Tricks to Get Traffic is GOLD!
PLANNING
On the blogging-side of things, I’ve been brainstorming and planning the style side of things and think I’ve got it down. Personal life-wise, my besties and I finalized which race we’re going to do for our relay marathon next summer two weeks ago. I’ve started my self-guided training last week so I can’t wait to update you on everything!
LOOKING FOR
I’m currently looking for a laundry hamper and considering I’m picky about how I spend my money now, the hunt is still going. Fashion-wise, I’m still searching for a camel-colored coat, booties, a cashmere sweater, a neutral trench coat, a cozy wool scarf and a nice pair of dressy flats that are comfortable for weekend outings (but those aren’t a priority right now).
LOOKING FORWARD TO
Candles are my weakness and with cooler weather here to stay (::crosses fingers::), I’m going to be lighting a ton of them! Especially my favorite boujie candle, ha! I have a mini campaign coming up too so stay tuned!
LOVING
My routine. Did you notice that I posted every single day last week?! I think I got my groove back. I’m also loving how my relationship with God has strengthened. It’s my hope that it continues because I’m just lost without him.
THINKING ABOUT
My friend and high school classmate, Thomas. After 14 years of battling brain cancer, he went on to be with the Lord two weeks ago. I keep thinking about his closest and best friends. Even though we aren’t close, we all went to school with one another from middle school to high school. He was only 32 years old. SO young. Sometimes, I feel like things like this shouldn’t bother me too much because you’re not as close to that person, but I can’t help it. I’m just so sad to see some of my oldest friends lose their best friend.
HATING
Losing people to cancer. I hate it and will forever hate this disease.
SLACKING ON
Getting things on my blog’s to-do list done. What, I’ll never tell. If I could take a whole week off of the 9 to 5 to focus on my blog’s to-do list, I’m pretty sure I could have it all done.
STRUGGLING WITH
Sleep has been a lot better. However, drinking water has not…
What’s been going on with you as of late?
SHOP THE POST
Have you started putting up your Christmas decorations yet? I’m the type who thinks that the only acceptable time to put up decorations early is when it’s the week before Thanksgiving.

November 17, 2018I haven’t been watching anything new… usually The Office or Friends is on… and now all the cheesy Hallmark/Lifetime Christmas movies are on! Yes I know they are all the same and super cheesy, but I’m that girl that still watches them! lol
So many people are swearing by those face rollers, I’m gonna have to look into getting one. And I’ve been slacking on everything lately… idk what my problem is either… lol
And I’m sorry about your friend! It’s been 18 years since my Dad and it still feels like yesterday! He was only 42 and I keep hearing about so many young people getting sick. It really starts to way on my heart and mind… and it’s a struggle for me not to lose faith…..
