Giving Back: Erno Laszlo + Project Beauty Share #HAULidayDonation

Erno Laszlo & Project Beauty Share HAULidayDonation - She Sweats Diamonds - Erno Laszlo skincare - clay mask

A few weeks ago, on Giving Tuesday, I highlighted the importance of giving back. Today, I wanted to talk about one specific way you can give back during this holiday season. And I think you guys will love it!

So here’s the story.

Last month, the Erno Laszlo team reached out to me and asked if I could help them share an important initiative they are working on with Project Beauty Share this holiday season.

To make sure we’re a good fit, I asked to try their products and more details on their initiative. So, the lovely Erno Laszlo team sent me a few products from their skincare line and the 411 on their partnership with Project Beauty Share.

After trying their pore cleansing clay mask and hearing what they had to say, I said yes like the Herbal Essences girl from the 1990s shampoo commercials.

Here’s all you need to know:

ERNO LASZLO

Erno Laszlo is a skincare brand that has been around since 1927. Long story short, the founder, Dr. Laszlo, was one of the first to create customized beauty routines for women and worked with notable names such as Marilyn Monroe,  President JFK, Greta Garbo, Audrey Hepburn, and Jackie Onassis. Aside from celebrities, he wanted to help women feel confident in their own skin and here we are today! If you’re interested, here’s their entire brand’s history.

PROJECT BEAUTY SHARE

Project Beauty Share is a for-purpose (I like this better than ‘non-profit’) organization. They collect new and gently used beauty products in additional to personal hygiene products to help women and their families who have been through a lot, including, but not limited to abuse, addiction, homelessness, and poverty.

Project Beauty Share’s mission is to serve women in need by helping them gain confidence in themselves and instilling a positive self-image about who they are and their talents and abilities.

WHY YOU SHOULD DONATE

As you’re wrapping gifts for your loved ones, why not put together a beauty box for someone else? For some, the holidays are NOT a joyous season and can be a painful reminder of the not so great times.

Aside from feeling beautiful on the outside, you are helping someone feel good about themselves on the inside.

What you donate isn’t just products someone needs, but you’re gifting them confidence, perseverance, determination, and love.

Yes, products are needed, but that’s the outside needs. How about gifting what people need most from within? When you give, you let others know that there’s someone out there who cares. At times when they may feel like no one even knows their existence, give them hope. And love.

And if you have beauty, skincare, and/or hygiene products you haven’t been using that’s just lying around the house, why not donate for a great reason?

HOW TO GIVE BACK

Giving back is super easy! Here’s how:

  1. Put new and gently used hygiene and/or beauty products in a box. Here’s a list of what you can and can’t donate.

“*Erno Laszlo will donate $10 USD, up to $10,000, for every Instagram picture posted publicly with the campaign hashtag and handles tagged from November 1, 2019 through December 25, 2019.”

And if you can’t donate, Project Beauty Share also has an Amazon wishlist and you can donate that way while you’re shopping for Christmas too.

WHY I’M DONATING

Growing up, I wasn’t a very confident girl. In fact, I was very reserved and super shy. And since I had to grow up at such a young age, it’s taken me a long time to learn how to gain confidence and to believe in myself and my abilities.

However, I didn’t gain my confidence by myself. A lot of it came from God, from reading fantastic personal growth books, and from people who have given me their time, words of encouragement, and meaningful gifts.

When I needed it most, no matter how someone chose to give me a gift, it meant the world to me and lifted my spirits to keep going for one more day.

I’m donating because I want to let someone out there know that things will get better. And I’m donating because it’s my mission to help other women understand what She Sweats Diamonds really means and how it can apply to her.

Here’s a snippet of what I’ve donated so far:

WHO ISN’T SHE?

When I was searching for ideas for a backdrop for this shot, I came across this title of an article in a magazine and found it so fitting for this campaign. Seriously, ask yourself this and think about this question when it comes to the women in your life.

Who isn’t she?

Good question, right?

So? What’s the answer?

She’s everything she wants to be and more. That’s what.

Looking at my box of what I’m donating may seem so little, like I’m not donating enough. However, I know there’s a woman (and quite possibility, her family) out there who needs it. Just one swipe of a lipstick or one spritz of a fragrance can make a her feel powerful.

And that’s the gift I want to give.

I hope you enjoyed today’s article on something that’s very close to my heart.

In whatever way that means most to you, I also hope you take the time to give back this season.

And please share this post so others can take part of this great initiative!
