Girls with perfect nails always know their perfect nude hue. —Michelle Saunders

If you were to talk me into going to a manicure appointment with you for some “girl time” several years ago, I would’ve politely declined your invitation.

You see, it wasn’t too long ago when I intentionally took a day off of work and learned the meaning of the gift of rest and keeping the Sabbath.

It also marked the beginning of my manicure journey.

I used to feel that getting a professional manicure/pedicure was a waste of time and money too. The thought of forcing myself to sit still for an hour or so and paying someone to do/paint my nails didn’t sit well with me.

It wasn’t until very recently that I changed my mind. Now, I look forward to getting my nails done especially when they’re done by an expert who takes pride in her work!

That said, I’d like to introduce you to the newest and best nail salon in Dallas!

MUSE NAIL HOUSE

My manicurist, Anna Havrylenko, has been my manicurist for nearly three years and is now the co-owner of Dallas’ newest and Instagram-worthy nail salon, Muse Nail House! I’m SO excited and happy for her!

When I walked in this past week, my jaw dropped! She and her business partner have done a FANTASTIC job on branding, furnishing, decor and aesthetics, am I right?!

I wanted to take this snap as I decided what my next manicure color was going to be. These are just a small selection of the gel colors Muse Nail House offers!

Story time!

I first discovered Anna when I was researching for aesthetic nail salons in Dallas. I felt that if the salon environment was pretty, they would take good care of me and my nails too.

However, I have to say that I was looking for a new Dallas nail salon was because of two reasons. The first? My original manicurist, Cathy, had left her salon during the pandemic. I found out from the salon when I was trying to book my follow up appointment, but they wouldn’t tell me where she went. I tried searching for her on social media with no luck either.

The second reason was because I also had two bad experiences with dip in a row. (Hey, I wanted to give dip and those who raved about it the benefit of the doubt.) I was looking for someone who knew how to take off dip without ruining my natural nails and fix them so they’d look more feminine and pretty.

Note, when I say bad experience, I mean it. My second dip manicure looked like chiclets – they were too square-shaped and thick for my liking. I will spare you a photo, haha!

I then came across Anna’s work on Instagram. When I saw a lot of her neutral and fun manicure designs and her attention to detail, I booked her so fast! I then got my first Russian gel manicure in 2023 and never looked back! I’ve been a very happy client ever since!

And yes, I do take breaks from gel manicures, just not as often as I should because I love them so much, lol!

Back to the tour! Here’s a close up of their wall of art! I love the cutouts and that it’s not the traditional squares or rectangles! What do you think?

RUSSIAN MANICURES

As someone who used to do their own nails for a long time then tried dip (twice) and hated it, I’ve come to admit that Russian gel manicures are my favorite! I feel SO put together and feminine when I get my nails done!

And here’s my latest choice: skinny French manicure.

If you’re looking for some ideas for your next mani (or pedi), take a look at Muse Nail House’s Instagram as they build out their social media and some of my past Russian manicures for inspiration! To preface, I’m a neutral manicure kind of girl so if you’re like me, I know you will enjoy it!

LESSONS FOUND IN MANICURES

As someone who had a hard time with paying someone to do their nails while sitting still for an hour or so, I’ve changed my mind because of the way getting a manicure makes me feel afterwards.

For me, it’s an investment that’s worth the time and money to feel confident, feminine, and empowered.

And if you’re looking to feel the same way, getting manicures regularly may be one of many answers you need.

If you have a difficult time blocking out some self-care on your calendar and need a push to book yourself a manicure appointment, I came across this quote and thought I’d share it with you. Take it as a sign!

Nails are more than a beauty ritual — they are a reminder. You made time for yourself. That details matter. That you deserve to feel put together, even when life feels a mess. It’s self-expression in its purest form.

I hope you enjoyed this mini tour of Muse Nail House, one of the best nail salons in Dallas and pay Anna a visit! If you do, please tell her I sent you and support a Ukrainian, woman-owned business!

Tell me, how do you feel about getting your own nails done?
