The Diamond Edit No. 4 :: Blush and Grey Outfit Inspiration
Cami top | Skinny Jeans | Blush pink Lipstick | Ankle Strap Sandals (try perforated booties if you’re going for more of a laid-back look) | Chevron Crossbody Bag | Sunglasses
Happy Tuesday, guys! No outfit post today (it was rainy and cloudy this past weekend). Since I’m craving some signs of spring, I wanted to bring you a blush and grey outfit for some inspiration. I know, blush is so groundbreaking (lol), but it really is one of my favorite colors. However, I prefer blush in a muted shade (closer to nude) rather than the pastel blush pink. I rarely even wear color on my nails anymore, red included. Now, you’ll always catch me in some kind of nude/light pink mani.
You know, I used to love bright colors, but within these last two years, my style preferences have evolved quite a bit. I don’t follow trends too much since I’d rather stick to style that’s more me: classic with a touch of femininity. I’ve learned that I don’t hate black as much (Jamie, you’d be so proud of me!) and prefer neutral colors like nude, blush, white, grey, blue-grey, navy and black. Maybe it’s because I want to get dressed without thinking too much.
We all go through phases when it comes to our style. My phase was color and lots of it, sometimes too bright, haha! Case in point with this outfit, this outfit, this outfit and this outfit. Not that these looks were terrible, but as I was cleaning out my closet, I realized I hardly had anything in neutral shades. On top of that, the more I shopped, the more gravitated towards neutrals. Even my bestie, Sarah, noticed when we were in Philly as I swooned over this beautiful rack of neutral clothes.
I know the change in my style has to do with my age too. As I’m getting older, my desire to live more minimally (I HATE keeping paper), including fashion is growing. It’s becoming more and more appealing to have a curated closet full of chic, classic, timeless and high quality clothes to mix and match. I fully blame Marianna Hewitt of Life With Me, Kat Tanita of With Love From Kat and Megan Runion of For All Things Lovely for playing a part in inspiring me with their wardrobes.
Anyway, isn’t this cami top adorable? I love the little bows on the shoulders. Rather than being cutesy, it adds a touch of feminine flair. I don’t spend a ton for pieces made of polyester, but I can handle $28 for this rose gold top!
If you plan on nabbing this top, pair it with some grey skinny jeans and throw a light grey suede moto jacket over your shoulders with some nude heels like my collage above! And for summer, wear it with some white denim shorts (under $40) and nude wedges or flat sandals (I love this in the color ‘makeup’). Finish your look with some aviators and dainty jewelry and you’re good to go!
I know today’s blush and grey outfit inspiration may seem basic, but I feel like classic and comfortable is a win-win in my book. I mean, I’m all for looks and style, but not if I have to suffer in the name of fashion.
Stay tuned for my BBG update tomorrow!
