As you know from my past beauty posts, skincare has been my top beauty priority for nearly two years now. And since I’m a beauty junkie, I love to experiment with new products.
When the Lexli team reached out to me to try their products, I said yes after seeing some side by sides on their Instagram page. After all, I am always on the hunt to play with new beauty products/brands!
Before I dive into my own routine and product reviews, I must preface by saying that it took me a long time in creating a nighttime skincare routine. Partly because I’ve been busy and partly because I didn’t know where to start to “fix” my skin issues.
For the past year and half, I’ve been working on improving my beauty routine. Part of my health goal is to have such glowing skin that I need little to no makeup. And if you’re new around here, oily/combination, uneven skintone and milia have been my top problems.
For the past month, I isolated my nighttime skincare routine to test these products. It was important to me to make sure my review was accurate.
Without further ado, here’s my current nighttime skincare routine and review of each Lexli product:
MAKEUP REMOVAL CLEANSING
Before I use Lexli‘s Aloe-Based Cleansing Lotion, I take off the first layer of makeup with Simple Micellar Makeup Remover Wipes. Next, I pump one pump of the cleansing lotion into my hand, rub it together to warm it up a bit and then rub it all over my face and neck in circular motions. I don’t wet my face beforehand. Reason being is that I don’t want any product I use to have to break through an additional barrier.
After I wash the lotion off with warm water, I cleanse again for a second time.
Review:
Aloe-Based Cleansing Lotion – I still currently use this cleanser, it’s that good! It lathers up well (but isn’t “soapy”) and is soft on my skin. The formula is nice as it doesn’t make my skin feel tight or dry after I wash it off either.
EXFOLIATING
After my second round of cleansing, I pat dry my skin with a face towel. It’s important to not rub your face when drying your skin as you don’t want broken capillaries. I have a few on my face because I rubbed my skin too hard so now, I make sure to just pat my face dry.
Next, I put a small amount of the AloeGlyC Renewing Exfoliant on my face and neck. I then take my night vitamins and hop on social media for a bit as I wait for 10-15 minutes for it to dry.
Review:
AloeGlyC Renewing Exfoliant – Most of the time, I exfoliate with my Clarisonic brush, but sometimes I find it too hard on my skin even though I exfoliate once or twice a week and with a soft brush head at that. I was intrigued to use a leave-on exfoliant and will say that this stuff works! My face was tingling the first few days I used it so I reduced the amount I put on my skin and it was much better. The lines on my skin has improved as well as my skintone!
Another bonus to this particular product is that even though the instructions talk about sun sensitivity and how important it is to wear sunscreen or a moisturizer with sunscreen following the use of AloeGlyC, it helped me to remember to put on sunscreen, ha!
MOISTURIZING
After waiting for 10-15 minutes for the AloeGlyC Renewing Exfoliant to dry, I spritz on some Aloe-Based Toner and Balance for my moisturizer and I’m done!
Review:
Aloe-Based Toner and Balance – Verdict? I’ve never applied moisturizer through a spray before so I was intrigued to try this toner and balance moisturizing spray. I LOVE how this works! Not going to lie, for those lazy nights, after I wash my face, I skip the exfoliating step. Then I spritz a few pumps on my face, let it dry and off I go to la-la land!
MASKING
Confession: I’m terrible at using face masks often as it’s an extra, extra step. And when you’re tired, you just want to skip it, ha! However, when I do mask, I tend to prefer sheet masks as they are convenient and easier to put on. Then again, I love masking by being able to control how much I want to use. I try my best to mask at least once a week.
Review:
Aloe-Based Lightening Lift – I tried the Aloe-Based Lightening Lift once during the month of my experiment and liked it. I say once because I had a crazy month of work, after work events and vacation. But for the one time I did use it, I felt like it tightened my skin and definitely helped reduce my skin’s oil production.
The only downside is that the formula is so thick, it was hard to get it to dispense from the pump. If this product came in a form of a packet or tube, I think it’d be even better!
Overall, each individual product has lived up to their unique claims (reduces inflammation, minimizes skin redness, etc.) so I’m a happy camper! I plan on using up all of the products that were sent to me and if there’s any additional progress, I’ll update this post!
And there you have it! That is my current nighttime skincare routine and my review of Lexli‘s products.
Would you give Lexli skincare products a try?
If you’re looking to try Lexli products, I think you’ll be happy to know that the brand understands free-radical damage, uses pharmaceutical-grade aloe vera, are paraben-free and Leaping Bunny certified.
