Jersey Swing Dress (under $30!) | Statement Necklace (old, similar statement necklaces) | Studded Sandals (old, similar studded flat sandals) | Crossbody bag (old, love this black crossbody one and this crossbody if you want to splurge) | Sunglasses
Surprise. Surprise. I’m telling you, I’ve been on a black kick lately! This dress is comfortable, so soft and you guessed it, perfect for every day! I’m going to use blogger language and say, “You can dress it up or dress it down!” because it’s true and I have no clue on how else to say that, lol!
Because you can recreate many looks with this dress, I wanted to share pieces I’ve found depending on your style. Since everyone has different budgets, I’m also sharing various price ranges.
Casual
Shoes:
You can go for flat sandals like I did here or go even more casual.
Save: These Converse (styled in this outfit post) are so versatile and comfortable.
Mid-range: Nikes or APLs would be great if you want a semi-girly athleisure look.
Splurge: Golden Goose is a brand I’ve seen on Megan if you prefer the casual yet edgy feel it can add to a look.
Bags:
For a chill vibe, go for hassle-free bags like the crossbody style.
Save: You can never go wrong with a crossbody bag from Michael Kors or Rebecca Minkoff. I have several bags from both designers if it says anything!
Mid-range: This crossbody bag (under $595) is such a classic and a great investment starter piece.
Splurge: This beige leather crossbody has been on my wishlist for about a year now (under $1000).
Jewelry:
For a laid-back look, go for hassle-free accessories. Here are some ideas for accessories:
Save: This On the Mark necklace and these stud earrings are my go-to when I’m in a rush, but still want to feel put together. Both pieces give just enough shine that you’ll be reaching for it time and again.
Mid-range: I love this fun statement necklace (under $70)! It’s not too colorful, but just enough to pop.
Splurge: For casual jewelry splurges, I usually go to J. Crew as their necklaces are fun. Most pieces range between $50 to $150.
Accessories:
For me, nothing tops off a look than a pair of sunglasses.
Save: These sunglasses (under $12) have been my favorite pair for the last month! You can see them styled in this outfit, this outfit and this recent look.
Mid-range: Sunglasses from Quay are great in terms of price point and style. If you to finish your look, but don’t want to give off the “I’m trying too hard” vibe, I’m pretty sure you’ll like this brand as they get pretty good reviews on most of their products.
Splurge: My absolute go-to is also everyone’s classic favorite: Ray Ban. I have two pairs of aviators from them so I can personally attest that Ray Bans are high quality and worth the investment.
Dressy
Shoes:
You can go for flat sandals like I did here. The key is to look for embellishments like studs.
Save: For an affordable shoe option, I always reach for Sam Edelman (original prices range from $100-$160). If it says anything, I’ve had their Trina Block Sandal for three years and it still looks brand new! Vince Camuto ($98-$250) is another affordable brand I love.
Mid-range: Stuart Weitzman is a never-fail brand when it comes to minimal yet dressy shoes. Their Nudist Style makes me fall hardcore. My personal under $400 favorite? The Nudistsong in the color Patent Adobe. I’m not that big into heels, but I’m sure it says a lot when I tell you these heels are comfortable!
Splurge: Anything from Chanel and Christian Louboutin is definitely worth the splurge. I love how classic “red-bottoms” their are. Invest in them, take good care of them and you’ll be wearing your favorite pair for years.
Bags:
If you gravitate towards hassle-free bags like the crossbody style, find one where you can tuck in the straps and use as a clutch or hold by the top handle for more of a sophisticated look.
Save: I’m a huge fan of Ted Baker London dresses so it’s easy for me to recommend their convertible crossbody handbags.
Mid-range: This wallet on a chain (under $300) is so classy and in the perfect shade of pink that’s neutral enough to go with many looks.
Splurge: I’ve had my eye on the Pochette Metis (price ranges from $1700 to a little over $2100 depending on the color you want) and if you want some texture, this velvet crossbody (under $1600) is so luxurious.
Jewelry:
Here are some fun bauble ideas:
Save: I love this statement necklace (under $70). Talk about a glam rocker look!
Mid-range: Some great stand out pieces if you want to spend a few hundred dollars are Loren Hope (this necklace is amazing!) and Kendra Scott (still upset about my broken Leighton necklace).
Splurge: Anything from Dylanlex is worth the investment if you love lots of sparkles!
Accessories:
For me, nothing tops off a look than a pair of sunglasses.
Save: Since I love these aviators (under $12!) so incredibly much, I’m going back for the rose gold sunnies!
Mid-range: These Sam sunglasses (under $120) in blush crystal are so beautiful (currently 25% off)!
Splurge: These gorgeous Lily cat eye sunglasses (under $400) are everything! Nab them in tortoise and you’ll be using them all summer! I personally love the beige/brown shade!
