Hey guys! I’m back. Sorry for not posting yesterday, I woke up and was not feeling well at all. I ended up staying home from the 9 to 5 altogether and just rested. Resting is something I don’t do well, but me time was much-needed and it did me a world of good.
Anyway, I’m feeling much better today so I wanted to share with you pictures from the second day of my trip to New York with my best friends.
Brookfield Place photo shoot
We started off the morning with a very early shoot at 7am. We shot this look in a cute mini park area next to the Time Headquarters and on the way back, I stopped in a restroom to change and we shot this look right across the street from the 9/11 Memorial just outside the Brookfield Place shopping center.
9/11 Memorial
9/11 Memorial was so emotional. I’ll be honest. I cried. I didn’t have friends or family that were affected by this tragedy 16 years ago and yet, it was such an emotional experience. Way more than I expected, especially when we were one of the first ones there on this morning. It was an honor to be standing here just a month before the 16th anniversary to pay our respects. You’ll definitely be able to see more of the memorial on the vlog (coming soon!).
Laduree
We stopped at Laduree in Soho for some macarons because #LeDuh. Africa was so nice to let us see the rest of their restaurant before they opened so we got to walk through the restaurant and see their dining area inside and outside. It was beautiful!
Strolling around…
Since we decided to walk to brunch, we were able to see beautiful homes and witness small corners honoring the fallen…
While We Were Young
Next up, we went to brunch at While We Were Young. I heard so much about this place and since it was dubbed most Instagrammable, we had to make a stop. Stephen was our waiter and was so sweet and personable!
SAKS
Rachel was tired so she took a nap. Since Sarah needed to get some work done, we walked over to Brookfield Place and I blogged for a bit. Sarah was still working so I decided to take a walk and ran into a Saks. Obviously I had to go in. By Terry, APLs, Zimmermann and all things beauty please!
Wallstreet
Wallstreet was fun to see in person on our way to the Brooklyn Bridge. Walking on the cobble stones felt like we were transported back in history. I have way more for the vlog on this, haha! The buildings were gorgeous and we made so many stops just to look at them.
Brooklyn Bridge
Walking the Brooklyn Bridge was fun yet tiring. There was a woman who wore dress pants while trying to bike. It was hilarious because you could tell she was on a date and couldn’t keep up with her date. We saw the couple at the halfway point and he was dressed for biking and she was not. We were wondering if she was “surprised” with the date and couldn’t change. About halfway to finishing our walk of the entire bridge, we saw her go back. Guess she wasn’t having it, haha! I mean, who bikes in dress pants, especially when it’s blazing hot outside? Anyway, I was too sweaty to take a fashionionable Instagram post so here’s our awesome views, ha!
East River
We were beat from our walk across the bridge and ended up walking into this gorgeous park to find a restroom. I had been bitten by mosquitoes in the park so we just went across the street to order shirley temples so we could use their bathrooms, ha! We ended up sitting at the bar and watching the soccer game with the bartender. After about an hour, we headed back to the East River to have dinner at an Irish pub. After we were done, we went and grabbed some cookies some place that’s basically the equivalent of Tiff’s Treats.
That’s it for day two of our New York adventures! If I find more pictures, I’ll update this post with them!
