As you know, skincare is a huge part of my daily routine. In the past, I didn’t put much thought into what to bring when to comes to beauty travel. I just brought my face wipes, moisturizer and daily makeup. Since then, I’ve taken my skincare seriously and today, I wanted to share what I’m packing in my travel beauty kit.
No matter how tired I am, I always take my makeup off and at the very least, moisturize before I get in bed. However, I’ve made it a point to exfoliate and wear a mask once a week and double cleanse and moisturize on a nightly basis. When it comes to travel, I must admit I don’t do as well with my skincare routine, but I intend to get better at it because I want to travel more as I get older.
For my upcoming trip, here’s my top 5 skincare essentials I’m taking with me in my travel beauty kit (under $35!):
PHILOSOPHY Purity Made Simple Cleanser
I’ve been using this cleanser for a few years now and love it! It doesn’t dry out my skin and I love that you can also get the mini cleanser for $11! Perfect size for traveling! Pro-tip: wait for the 2018 Nordstrom Anniversary sale this Thursday if you want to stock up while they’re on super sale.
DRUNK ELEPHANT Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil Mini
I nabbed this Marula facial oil a few weeks ago to go with my glycolic night serum. However, I haven’t tried it yet as I’m currently test-driving another skincare line. I’m SO looking forward to using this oil as I’ve read so many great reviews on it!
DRUNK ELEPHANT T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum
Before I started trying the current skincare line I’m testing right now, I was using this glycolic night serum. I swear it’s helped so much with my milia! I can’t wait to combine it with the Marula facial oil on my trip to see the full effects!
TATCHA Sunscreen
I’ve heard so much about the Tatcha brand over the last year that I got this sunscreen while it was on sale during Sephora’s Spring Beauty Event. I’m getting to the bottom of my current sunscreen bottle so I can’t wait to see how Tatcha works on my skin! Pretty sure we’ll be walking everywhere in the heat so I can’t wait to really put it to the test!
Here’s a mini Tatcha sunscreen review from Sabrina over on The Beauty Lookbook if you’re interested! She’s my main go-to beauty blogger when it comes to all-things beauty!
LANEIGE Water Sleeping Mask
I haven’t had the chance to use this product yet, but I’m looking forward to trying this face mask out. I’ve never tried a leave-on-overnight mask before so I’m interested to see what this K-beauty product can do!
And if I could choose five more products I’d take with me on travels, it would be these beauty brands:
CELAVIVE Sunscreen
Sunscreen is SO important and it was hammered into me by my mom from a young age. I’ve been using this sunscreen for a few months and loveee having it under my makeup for work or wearing it alone on weekends. I love it because it doesn’t leave an oily or white residue and is pharmaceutical-grade. It’s a small bottle, but a little goes a very long way!
HERBIVORE Lapis Balancing Facial Oil
In my travel beauty kit is this must-have facial lapis oil. I’ve talked about it before, but it really reduces redness on my face! I just apply it before bed (mostly around my nose) and wake up with clearer skin! Since the bottle is made of glass, I don’t even want to try and pack it so I’d transfer some of it into a small plastic container. Nordstrom has some cute little jars around their beauty counters you can take so I think that’s what I’ll do!
LANEIGE Water Bank Hydrating Gel
Another thing I’d add to my travel beauty kit is this hydrating gel. I must admit I don’t use gels much when it comes to skincare. However, I think I’ll take this with me to see if I can squeeze it into my routine somewhere considering the jar is very small.
SUNDAY RILEY C.E.O. Rapid Flash Brightening Serum
I’ve been looking for a vitamin C serum for a longgg time. After reading Caitlin’s recommendation and seeing many positive reviews online, I think I’m going to add this to my skincare radar list! And considering it’s very expensive, I think this $28 Sunday Riley set might be a great alternative when the time comes for another beauty haul!
SUMMER FRIDAYS Jet Lag Mask
I’ve been dying to try out this jet lag mask since it launched this past spring, but every time I’m ready to buy it, it gets sold out, hahah! Guess it’s really that good! I love that this cult-favorite is part of Sephora’s Clean Beauty line and I seriously cannot wait to get it in my hands soon!
To me, a huge part of wellness is skincare. I hope you enjoyed seeing what I’m going to pack in my travel beauty kit! If you want to see more, please let me know!
