Best and Worst Purchases of 2024

I may be a beginner at some things, but I have a black belt in shopping.

As I get older, my purchases are more meaningful. I take time to think about an item, research, and will wait as long as I can to get the best pricing.

Considering most of us work incredibly hard to earn our money, it’s only right to take time to decide before making a purchase to ensure our money goes a long way. And if it’s practical for daily use, even better.

Bonus points if it’s practical so it gets a lot of use and over all, it doesn’t come with a rebate on remorse.

I thought I’d continue the annual tradition of sharing opinions of my own purchases. Without further ado, here are my best and worst purchases of 2024 so I can help you save time and money!

Let’s start with the bad news…

LEAST FAVORITE PURCHASES OF 2024

TISSUE TURTLENECK

What once was my favorite layering piece has now become my least favorite. The material is a lot thinner and felt cheaper this year. And unless you like a layering piece that thin, don’t go for it.

Granted, I haven’t purchased this turtleneck in a few years, but I can definitely tell the quality isn’t what it once was even from five years ago. It’s definitely the worst purchase of 2024.

CLOUD DEW GEL CREAM MOISTURIZER

As much as I wanted to like this skincare product, I didn’t like the tackiness I felt after it dried. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not the worst purchase of the year as it’s great a moisturizer for your skin. I’m just super picky about the “after affects” that it’s one of my least favorite purchases of 2024.

And now, the good news!

BEST PURCHASES OF 2024

MIGRAINE HEAD WRAP

This head wrap was the best purchase of 2023 for me and continues to win in 2024. I use it quite often when I get headaches and don’t want to take medication. It’s also handy if you want a little spa day. Think of it as a cold plunge for your face, ha!

LEATHER BELT

One of my absolute favorite fashion purchases of 2024 is this leather belt. Even though it’s simple, it instantly elevated my outfit. I loved it so much I also bought it in black.

FAUX FUR COAT

After seeing this coat on Kate Hutchins, I had to get it! I felt such like a cross between a mob boss and a Parisian lady from the 50s, ha! I loved it so much that I also got it in white/ivory as the Zara version was definitely not as soft.

TEAR DROP STUD EARRINGS

These lightweight yet high-quality earrings were a last-minute, fun-purchase-for-myself when I was shopping for gifts and I loved them so much I bought the silver version!

COTTON BOXER SHORTS

My favorite thing to wear during spring and summer are these cotton boxer shorts. I have the hydrangea color, navy blue, and light blue stripe. If the brand is smart, they will come out with more colors as the customer ratings are so high!

MIDNIGHT RITUAL RETINOL SERUM

A favorite skincare product I gambled on when I made this purchase. Let’s just say, I won the lottery! If you have any scarring from acne, it does work on diminishing it. You just have to be consistent.

RICH CUSHION CREAM

Hands down one of my favorite moisturizers, especially if you have dry skin during the winter. It’s a must-have and feels SO good.

RETRACTABLE DUAL-ENDED EYESHADOW BRUSH

Another fantastic beauty purchase that’s so good, I bought a second one for my travel bag!

WATER-FRESH BLUSH

I accidentally discovered this blush while looking for a Christmas gift for my sister-in-love. The rep told me it would last all day as she proceeded to put it on me.

Guys, she’s not wrong. After a long day of shopping and running errands, I looked in the mirror and it did last all day! I was incredibly surprised as blushes usually don’t last long on me, even the liquid formulas. I have the Intense Coral shade and plan on nabbing the Warm Pink for spring!
