Life itself is a privilege, but to live life to the fullest, well, that is a choice. —Andy Andrews
You have one last gift left. You’re so excited to open it that you rip into the box.
However, since this is your life, let’s use your real thoughts and emotions.
You dreamed of your toy.
But you were too afraid to ask for it.
Now, go back to that scene. You have no Red Ryder BB gun because you were too afraid to ask for what you wanted.
Let me tell you something that may hurt. When it comes to the dreams in your heart, you forgot. You forgot about your wildest dreams and you forgot about your true potential. On top of that, Sometimes we forget God has given us everything we need to make our dreams come true. Click To Tweet
That hurt me when I realized it.
When it comes to the dreams in your heart, here are three truths:
1) OUR GOD IS CREATIVE.
I don’t know if you’ve thought about this before, but God made us to be creative beings! Isn’t that awesome? Sometimes you may think your dreams are far-fetched, but remember, God is creative and He thinks on a grand scale.
Have you seen the colors of a sunset or majestic mountains? Yep. That’s His creativity on a large scale. If you ever doubt your dreams, just remember this: the world needs you to think and dream big. And more specifically, the world needs your dreams.
2) OUR GOD USES ORDINARY PEOPLE TO DO EXTRAORDINARY THINGS.
Have you ever looked at someone and thought, “Man, they’re way more qualified to do this than I am.”? I’m pretty sure I can vouch for you when I say that I’ve compared myself to others around me. If you have a tough time with this, remember that those of status started off as ordinary people too.
They just believed in themselves, took action and kept going to get to where they’re at currently. One of the best pieces of advice I ever received was from my best friend’s dad. Five years ago, I told him that I had never worked for someone who is of a vice president status. You know what he said? “Huong, he’s just like you and me. He puts his pants on one leg at a time too.” Isn’t that something to think about?
3) OUR GOD IS VERY INTENTIONAL.
Let me tell you friends, if you have dreams that are dying to be free, sit down with God. If you aren’t sure you have any, sit down with God. If you just don’t know what to do with your life/career, sit down with God. He’s very detailed, intentional and has specific plans with your life.
You are here for a purpose bigger than yourself. Sit down with God and talk about it with Him. Ask Him to reveal to you what you want to know. Ask Him to guide and show you the way and most importantly, let Him lead you.
If you feel lost in this area of your life, the first step is to ask in faith.
Check out this message from Raquel: “For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline. 2 Timothy 1:7 NLT #DEVOTIONAL: The children’s book, “What To Do With An Idea”, should be read by everyone.”
I feel like when we were little, we dreamed big and had incredible ideas. However, as we grew older, we may have hidden those dreams and ideas because we were afraid of what people might think or we just simply didn’t know how to nurture them. If you have dreams in your heart or an idea that you can’t stop thinking about, water it with faith, feed it with action and watch it grow. Your dreams can impact the world!
If you don’t know about to pray about it, here’s a prayer that Raquel shared on her Instagram: #AMORNINGPRAYER:
Lord, I’ve hidden my dreams and ideas for many years. I know you did not put them in my heart for no reason. I pray the Holy Spirit alerts me when fear and timidity are presented to me. May I remember Your word and proclaim it over fear! I know with your help, my idea will grow and can have the potential to change the world! Amen.”
You’ll never get what you want or make progress if you don’t have the courage to ask and take action. Whatever dreams God puts on your heart, step out in faith and do it. That’s it!
It’s a crazy awesome feeling once you start taking action.
Your dreams begin to unfold and when you truly believe that they can come true, things start to fall into place. You’ll also notice that God puts you in perfect situations and starts placing people in your path to help you along the way (more on this topic for sure)!
If you’re still pursuing your dreams and feel like you’re running out of gas, ask God for a Genesis Week and watch what happens!
The biggest step to your growing faith and finding courage is to take action.
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain, so get crackin’ on your dreams!
