You can never be overdressed or overeducated. —Oscar Wilde
The keys to a fantastic outfit are normally items and wardrobe hacks you wouldn’t think about.
And considering it’s been a while, I thought I’d share some wardrobe tips and interesting style hacks with you to make your life a bit easier.
Here are five tricks I’ve used that have changed my outfits and life. I hope these hacks will help you live more fashionably and sustainably!
WELL-MADE SHAPEWEAR
I’ll be honest. When I wear dresses or skirts, I always wear shorts underneath. And as weird as it sounds, I’ve always had this fear that if the wind takes flight of my outfit, I’d be covered, haha! Well, in college, I graduated to mid-thigh shorts (aka bikers) and nude slips.
However, I’ve never tried a shapewear bodysuit before so I figured it was time since I’d gained some weight. It has been a game-changer!
I’ve found that they really help shape my body by smoothing things out, especially when I wear clothes with a jersey material like the dress I’m sharing in this post. Not going to lie, until I release some more weight, my shapewear bodysuit is helping with my confidence level.
USE THE GENTLE CYCLE.
Get ready for one of my favorite wardrobe hacks! To keep your clothes looking newer and lasting longer, use the gentle cycle and wash using the cold water option. When I wash my clothes, I always wash them on the gentle cycle with cold water. Washing with cold water will help you to save more money on energy and releases fewer microfibers that can get into our waterways and oceans.
I also like to take the extra step and put items like delicate pajamas into a zipped pillowcase to protect them even more so!
TWO NECKLACES IN ONE
Another wardrobe hack you can do is to give one of your necklaces a second life by twisting each end in the opposite direction. This shortens the length and voila! You have a choker!
This hack works best with multi-layered beaded necklaces. I’ll update this post with an image of what I do with my pearl necklace to show you.

SHRUNK YOUR FAVORITE CLOTHES?
This is my favorite wardrobe hack I’ve learned myself! When you accidentally shrink your favorite top, rewash it (again, on the gentle cycle). While it’s still wet (this is key!), lay it down and stretch it out by pulling the sides, top/bottom, and diagonally. Then hang it to dry!
I’ve found this works best with cotton-made clothing. Personally, I mostly do this with my tees and jeans.
PILLED SWEATERS
Instead of throwing your sweater away or donating it, why not give it new life? Save your favorite sweater by shaving it with this rechargeable electric sweater shaver! It’s under $40 and is at nearly 5-stars with over 52,000 reviews!
And those are some of my favorite wardrobe hacks I’ve been using to make my life easier and elevate my looks!
What’s your favorite wardrobe hack you’ve learned today?

January 30, 2020I’m always on the hunt for new undergarments that keep my outfits looking as smooth as possible and lately SKIMS seems to be a hit. I’m so excited to try out some of these layering pieces myself especially because of the wide color range that’s offered!

January 31, 2020I agree! I’m VERY happy with the range of colors aside from black and “nude” that’s usually in a single tone. Thank you for stopping by! Let me know what you think, Briana!
