It’s no secret that I love all things beauty. From fragrances to makeup to skincare and hair, I love it all. Trying new products, learning about ingredients, and dipping my toes into the clean beauty world has been so much fun these last few months!
Considering it’s been awhile since I’ve created some beauty content, I thought I’d end the week with a fun post for you guys.
With the Sephora Summer Bonus Event ending Tuesday next week, I thought I’d introduce you to some clean beauty products and what I’ve been trying.
SKINCARE
FARMACY Green Clean Makeup Removing Cleansing Balm*
I do not, will not, cannot, and refuse go to bed without removing my makeup. I just can’t sleep unless my face is clean and I have some lip balm on. Since face wipes are bad for the environment, I’ve slowed down on using them. And until I research some more, I don’t want to recommend any face wipe products as an option to remove makeup.
Farmacy is the first cleansing balm I’ve ever used and I really like it a lot. It doesn’t leave my skin dry (which is my biggest cleanser pet peeve) after I rinse it all off. On top of that, you don’t need a large amount. A nickel-sized amount is perfect to cleanse your face and neck. How do I know that? #UserError
LANEIGE Multi Cleanser
SUMMER FRIDAYS Jet Lag Mask*
If you guys are avid readers of SSD, you’d know how much I love Summer Fridays, its founders, Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores. I’m on my second full tube so if that doesn’t say I’m in love, then I don’t know what will. I keep this mask in the fridge and it feels so good to pop on right before drifting off into la la land.
Lancôme Visionnaire Skin Solutions 15% Pure Vitamin C Correcting Concentrate
The Lancôme team at Nordstrom Dallas were so kind to invite me to their event this past May to discover, or in my case, rediscover their brand. I’ve been using this vitamin C concentrate on and off over the summer. And after a lot of skin problems started surfacing, I kept coming back to it.
I will say it smells weird, but if you can put up with that, you’ll be happy because it does do the job! I wake up with more even skin tone and dare I say that some acne scars have disappeared? You can truly see visible differences!
SUPERGOOP! Everyday Sunscreen with SPF 50*
MAKEUP
TOO FACED Melted Matte Liquified Long Wear Matte Lipstick in Sell Out*
My holy grail of holy grail lipsticks. After many years of looking for liquid lipsticks that aren’t drying and flake off, I have found the one. I’ve used this liquid lipstick for about a year or two and love it. This formula stood the test of time and is not drying. I only need to reapply if I ate something a bit oily. Other than that, it stays put.
I’ll be experimenting with some other shades in the future because #CantStopWontStop.
HAIR
GHD Glide Professional Performance Hot Brush
For a short review on this, I will say, it’s very convenient. I think it works best on semi-thick hair. My hair is just too thick so it takes several passes to straighten my hair. I still like it a lot because it leaves my hair shiny.
BRIOGEO Farewell Frizz™ Blow Dry Perfection Heat Protectant Crème*
I have a love/hate relationship with this cream. The fact that it’s a clean hair product makes me happy. The smell reminds me of a tropical getaway complete with a fruity drink in hand so that’s a major plus!
However, it does leave a residue-like feeling in my hair if I accidentally use too much. And I say this because the formula of the product runs thin so you have to be careful when squeezing the tube.
WHAT I ORDERED
I’m still experimenting with new-to-me beauty products so for this sale, here’s what I hauled:
The Ordinary AHA 30% + BHA 2% Peeling Solution
Since I’m still battling my milia, I thought I’d give my first The Ordinary product a shot. I’m big on reading reviews so with a ton of positive ones, I thought it was worth a try. For under $10, I’m very excited to be experimenting with this product soon. I cannot wait to report back to you guys!
The Ordinary Granactive Retinoid* 2% Emulsion
Another thing I’ve been fighting is uneven skin tone and texture so for just under $10, I also added this product to my cart. I’ve heard of this brand before, but haven’t tried anything from their line yet. Again, the reviews reeled me in so I’ll let you know what I think soon!
Nails Inc. Life Hack Personality Nail Polish Collection in Anti Social Climber
I’ve been exploring cruelty-free brands lately and love that I came across Nails Inc. This nail polish brand does NOT test on animals and is a vegetarian brand that’s working towards being 100% vegan. How cool is that?
I thought I’d give them a shot too so I ordered a bottle in…you guessed it, a pinky nude shade.
And that’s it for this post! As a conscious consumer, I want you to know that you don’t have to buy these products just because there’s a sale happening. If you want to try something new, go for it. Just know that I don’t normally buy skincare or makeup at original price unless I want to try something new or need to replenish in between sales.
Please don’t feel like you have to keep up with Joneses. Heck you can even bookmark this post for future Sephora sales!
Are there any clean beauty products you love from Sephora’s Summer Bonus event?
If you do shop the sale, the offer is valid online (code: SUMMERSAVE) and in-store.
Wishing you all a fantastic weekend!
Anything with a * next to it is either a vegan, cruelty-free and/or clean beauty products I have used and love.
