You can never take too much care over the choice of your shoes. Too many women think that they are unimportant, but the real proof of an elegant woman is what is on her feet. —Christian Dior
Can you believe that New Year’s Eve is just a few weeks away?! 2023 just flew by and part of me is ready for 2024 and part of me is not.
The part of me that is ready is the love of celebrating newness, a blank slate if you will.
As we all celebrate New Year’s differently based on our lifestyles and personal preferences, I wanted to share a fun article all about shoes for New Year’s Eve!
Whether you’re staying at home or going out, I thought I’d gather some NYE shoe ideas so you can order and have them arrive on time for your festivities!
But first, here are some tips when choosing shoes for New Year’s Eve festivities:
CASUAL NEW YEAR’S EVE SHOES
Since 2020, a lot of us have reverted to a comfortable personal style vibe and stayed the course which is perfectly fine. However, that doesn’t mean you have to look frumpy.
The goal is to look chic and feel comfortable, right? That said, when you’re dressing a bit more casually, go for elevated styles when it comes to shoes. Sneakers with rhinestones or embellished sneakers are fun if you want statement shoes for NYE.
DRESSY NEW YEAR’S EVE SHOES
If you plan on going out, dressy shoes with some crystals or feathers are the way to go. I mean, if you’re going to go out, go all out, am I right?
As you’re already choosing a dressy shoe for New Year’s Eve, keep the embellishments a bit more understated and minimal. If your goal is to let your outfit do the talking, definitely keep your shoes fun, but minimal fun.
When shopping for dressy New Year’s Eve shoes, think of future events you can wear them to such as weddings, galas/fundraisers, and other parties. Remember, the rule around here: cost divided by times per wear!
ALL ABOUT COMFORT
No matter your NYE situation, always go for chic comfort! Yes, it does exist.
Personally, since I weigh more now, I prefer to wear booties with block heels for stability. Same for a heeled pair of sandals.
If I’m choosing a stiletto style, has to be three and a half inches or shorter. I know my feet would be dying if I chose anything higher than that! Heck, I think my threshold is a solid three inches as I get older, ha!
Don’t pay for a pair of shoes that cause pain. Pay for a comfortable pair you feel confident in that you’ll wear again!
ALL ABOUT LONGEVITY
I’ve said this time and again: cost divided by times per wear. Depending on your budget and financial goals, do not overspend for a pair of shoes you know you’re not going to wear again for a while.
Choose a pair that you absolutely love (has to be a 10 out of 10) and will wear them again. Your shoes need to be so good that you’d be ready for a last-minute event tomorrow. That’s how good they need to be.
When choosing special occasion shoes like New Year’s Eve shoes, for longevity, go for leather and if your shoes are made in Europe, even better! The artisans there have tremendous skill and just know quality! From personal experience, shoes made in Italy are top-notch!
That said, below are some NYE shoe styles I’ve chosen that I think hit all the marks I’ve touched on. Feel free to shop by clicking on whatever shoe you want!
