I have always dreamed of owning a home and hosting all kinds of dinner parties for my family and friends.
Growing up, my parents always hosted a lot of parties in our small apartment. Adults would be eating and drinking while the kids scarfed down their food so they could run outside to play.
Lots of glasses clinking and laughter echoing as conversations lasted into the night.
I dream of hosting a lot of gatherings in my future home. I can see it now: people I love mingling with one another, a beautiful modern tablescape, varieties of great food, and music playing in the background.
While I don’t own a home (yet), I wanted to share my dream modern Thanksgiving tablescape with you!
Here are my thoughts on this modern Thanksgiving tablescape setting…
THE FOUNDATION FOR A MODERN THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE
WHITE PLACE SETTING
No matter what color your dining table is, a white place setting will always be in style.
I chose this basketweave white place setting. While it’s pricey, invest in it once and it can be used all year round. All you need to do is change out the charger plates. I’d use gold-rim charger plates or solid gold charger plates for the holidays.
GOLD FLATWARE
Sure you can use silver flatware, but can you imagine how beautiful gold flatware would look on a wooden dining table during the holidays?
LAYERS OF A MODERN THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE SETTING
CHIC DRINKWARE
These ribbed coupe cocktail glasses are so pretty! Use the smoke color glasses to add to the ultra-chic setting. You can see it in action here when I created NYE content.
If your loved ones do not drink wine/champagne, go for these gold-rim water glasses.
COTTON NAPKINS
Add these highly-rated cotton napkins in the color of your choosing. I chose olive green as I can see using these for Thanksgiving and Christmas.
UNIQUE GOLD NAPKIN RINGS
While I’ve never used napkin rings before, these gold napkin rings would be the ones I’d use if I were hosting Thanksgiving this year.
Can you imagine these on ivory napkins for a spring or summer dinner?! SO pretty!
UNIQUE SERVEWARE
For me, it’s this marble butter dish with gold knife that will also double as something chic and practical. Put out several on your dining table and you can bet it will be used!
You can also use this for charcuterie boards throughout the year!
DETAILS OF A MODERN THANKSGIVING TABLESCAPE
GOLD PLACE CARD HOLDERS
Details such as gold place card holders are so fun, especially in your own home. How special will your guests feel when they see you have saved them a seat?!
CANDLE HOLDERS
A few of these hurricane candle holders are all you need to set the mood. And if you have littles around, use battery-operated candles for a safer tablescape option.
FLORAL CENTERPIECE
One floral centerpiece is all you need to add some color. Make sure it’s just one because you want to have room for all the delicious dishes you’ll be passing around! This one is SUPER pricey so if you have the means, go for it because they’ll last for a year!
