Time will fly by anyway and any moment you miss can turn into a lifetime of regret. Ooo, that sounded good. Let’s make that Tweetable shall we?
Any moment you miss can turn into a lifetime of regret. Click To TweetTo kick off the year, I thought I’d start with what I consider She Sweats Diamonds’ 2018 Beauty Products of the Year awards! Last year, I amped up my beauty routine and tested a lot of products and new-to-me brands. And not only did I have a ton of fun as a beauty junkie, I discovered a lot of fantastic products.
And if you’re looking to venture into anything beauty-related this year, allow my “best of the best” guide to help you make some decisions. Here. We. Go!
MAKEUP
Face
YVES SAINT LAURENT Touche Eclat Blur Primer – If you’ve been following along for awhile, you’d know that I’m a HUGE fan of YSL Beauty. They were my first-ever high-end beauty purchase almost a decade ago. And they keep killing the beauty game! Aside from the Touche Eclat concealer, I can’t get enough of this primer!
If you’re looking for a baby butt-smooth primer that blurs pores, this is it! One pump is all you need of this non-greasy primer and your foundation will glide on flawlessly! Trust me, you’ll want this bottle out on your vanity because 1) it works and 2) it’s so pretty!
BY TERRY Cellularose Brightening CC Lumi Serum – One of the highest priced items in this post, trust me when I say that it’s worth the money. This serum is great for lazy or even good skin days. It’s lightweight and adds just the right amount of color on those dull skin days! And I blame Lydia…in the best way possible!
Eyes
TOO FACED Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer – I just started using this the last few weeks of 2018 and hello coverage! I also totally under estimated the amount of product to use. Let’s just say a little goes a long way, LOL!
CHARLOTTE TILBURY Legendary Brows Eyebrow Gel – Still loving this eyebrow gel! The brush picks up the right amount of product and my brows stay put. I only use this on mornings when I’m not rushing out the door.
Cheeks
NARS Hot Tryst Cheek Palette – Quite possibly the most colorful palette I own! And sadly, it’s out of stock. However, I’m happy to say that I’ll be sharing a review soon!
SKINCARE
Cleansers
LANEIGE Multi Cleanser – One 2018 beauty winner is this cleanser. I love this cleanser! The texture is perfect for cleansing and exfoliating. I haven’t tried it with the Water Sleeping Mask and Moisture Bank Cream yet, but once I do, I’ll let you know my thoughts in a future review.
KOPARI Coconut Cleansing Oil – I can’t get over how amazing this cleansing oil smells!!! It’s my favorite thing to use in the shower!
LEXLI Aloe-Based Cleansing Lotion – My week day evening skincare regiment wouldn’t be complete without this aloe-based cleanser.
Moisturizers
DRUNK ELEPHANT Virgin Marula Luxury Facial Oil – A major 2018 beauty winner is this facial oil. I mix a few drops of this facial oil with one pump of DE’s night serum or wear it alone because it’s that moisturizing. I bought the smaller bottle to try and I’m definitely going back for the bigger size!
HERBIVORE Lapis Oil Balancing Facial Oil – If you’re an avid SSD reader, you know that I love this oil to reduces redness. It really helps around my nose!
LANEIGE Water Bank Moisture Cream – One of the few creams I use at night and wake up without oily skin. It’s not too heavy or too light and is even better after storing it in my skincare fridge.
Sunscreen
TATCHA Silken Pore Perfecting Sunscreen Broad Spectrum SPF 35 – Again, when I say that is THE best sunscreen ever, it’s the best. EVER!!! If you have combo/oily skin, the price is WORTH it. A pea-size is all I need for my face and neck. One tube lasts me forever and I use sunscreen daily!
Masks
SUMMER FRIDAYS Jet Lag Mask – This mask feels so amazing on my skin! I’ve even used it on my hands when I forgot to bring hand lotion to work with me.
DRUNK ELEPHANT T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial – If you’re a regular around here, you know that I’ve been struggling with milia. With the few times I’ve used it, my milia is slowly going away. I didn’t get a chance to increase usage of this product throughout the holiday season, but I plan on it this month. I’ll report back and let you know what I think after regular use.
LANEIGE Lip Sleeping Mask – As someone who can’t sleep without some kind of moisturizer on her lips, I’m in LOVE! This product lasts all night and I wake up with super soft lips.
Treatments
DRUNK ELEPHANT T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum – This is another great product to use if you have milia. However, it’s important to wear sunscreen to protect your skin as this is a resurfacing serum.
neuBROW Brow Enhancing Serum – The best brow serum on the market that works! I bought this lash serum a few years ago and it works too. Just trust me and get these products.
Tools
MOUNT LAI De-puffing Rose Quartz Facial Roller – My favorite thing to do while watching television is to use this roller. It’s like my skin jumps for joy, haha!
MOUNT LAI Gua Sha Facial Lifting Tool – I can’t tell you how good this feels to put under your eye. I also like to keep this in my skincare fridge to keep it cold.
HAIR
OLAPLEX No.4 Bond Maintenance Shampoo – The several times I’ve used this shampoo, my hair was so soft and smooth. After several uses, I did learn that a little goes a long way.
AQUIS Lisse Luxe Long Hair Towel – Thick-haired gal is thrilled with this product! It dries my hair faster than a regular towel!
And that recaps SSD’s 2018 Beauty winners! For 2019, you’ll be getting in-depth product reviews of most of these items from today’s post so be on the lookout for those in the coming months!
Do you have any 2018 beauty winners in your book?
With that said, per your request on my Instagram story polls, I will be focusing on a lot more skincare products this year! Stay tuned!
