A healthy outside starts from the inside. —Robert Urich
As someone who has consciously focused on her health for the last decade, I must say the beginning of any health journey is difficult.
However, staying healthy is much harder, especially as one ages.
Am I healthy? Yes, for the most part. Could I get better? Of course.
As I enter into the next era in terms of age this fall, I wanted to share some steps I’ve already taken to maintain the healthy lifestyle I already have as well as new changes I’ve begun to make.

I. FILTERED WHO I LISTEN TO / FOLLOW
Of all the easy healthy lifestyle changes I’ve made, filtering who I listen to/follow on social media is a big one.
Over a decade ago, I began to listening to business professionals, motivational speakers, and thought leaders. From then on, I began to read personal development books to strengthen my mindset.
After that, I unfollowed anyone who posted negative content or people I just didn’t vibe with anymore.
As time went on, I learned the importance of not only being careful what I’m listening to, but what I’m watching.
I began by quitting main stream music cold turkey in 2021. And to be honest, it was easier than I expected! After that, I also pulled back on watching movies and shows, especially new releases.
Since doing this, the only thing I can say is that I’ve felt more peace (by consuming less).
Tip: Vibrations from music affect your health. Look it up and see if the type of music you’re listening to is affecting your mood. Then try going a week without it and see how you feel.
II. BEGAN TAKING PEPTIDES MADE FROM NATURE
Just because you don’t understand something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t give it a try, right?
While I’m fairly new to the peptide world, I must say the peptides derived from nature that I’ve been using for a little over a year now supports the work I’m putting in at the gym.
My recovery is a lot faster and muscles are coming in so I’d say they are well worth it!
As I learn more about peptides, I will share more with you so stay tuned as well!
Tip: If you want to try peptides, I recommend to try it for six months so you can see real results. Feel free to email me or leave a comment below if you want to know which ones you should take!
III. STARTED EATING ORGANIC AND TAKING NATURAL REMEDIES
While I’m certainly late to eating organic compared to most super health-conscious people, I must say it’s a step I’ve been blessed to take.
Although organic produce is pricier, I feel like if I’m going to pay for something that will go into my body, it’d better be the real stuff. Do I eat organic 100% of the time? No, but it’s one easy healthy lifestyle changes I knew I could begin making. I also noticed that I physically feel better when eating organically.
I’ve also started taking natural remedies to help with areas I’m working to improve such as sleep. And it’s been an absolute game-changer! While I am thankful for western medicine and still use it from time to time, I’ve started going back to where it all began — God’s creations.
Tip: When shopping for fruits and vegetables, look at produce sticker codes and buy ones that begin with 9 as that signifies that it’s organic. Anything that begins with 3, 4 or another number is likely not organic even if the word ‘organic’ is put on the label/sticker, but please do research to educate yourself more on this matter.
IV. USE EMF PROTECTION ON MY DEVICES
I know this will sound weird to some people, but if I’m near a 5G tower, I can physically feel the radiation waves. My head starts to hurt and if it’s really bad, I get nauseous. At times, it’s so bad that I have to put my phone on airplane mode.
For the past two years, one of various easy healthy lifestyle changes I’ve made has been using EMF protection on my phone, wifi router, and laptop to combat 5G exposure and other harmful radiation.
I’ve also switched from wireless ear phones back to wired ones. If I can, I also put my calls on speaker phone so I don’t have to put my phone near my head.
Tip: If you have a newer car, it’s imperative to block EMF rays there as well. Please make your decisions after doing your research.
V. TURNED OFF MY BLUETOOTH / WIFI AT NIGHT
Speaking of blocking radiation, one of many easy healthy lifestyle changes I’ve made is turning off my bluetooth and wifi connections on my phone at night.
Moreover, our devices are always looking to connect to the internet/server. After learning that bit of information, I begun keeping my phone (and laptop) across my bedroom versus on my nightstand like I used to do.
Tip: If you can help it, unplug your router each evening before you go to bed. Try this for awhile and you’ll notice a big difference in the quality of your sleep!
VI. READ INGREDIENTS ON PACKAGING
While I do not eat much boxed/processed foods anymore, I’ve been a stickler when it comes to reading ingredients on packaging for the last several years.
It’s insane/sad to me on what is being put in boxed foods. And I’m pretty certain it’s worse today than it was even five years ago. 🙁
The crazy part is that I feel like consumers are just now learning about seed oils when I learned about the harmful effects of seed oils from a cardiologist on a health webinar nearly a decade ago. I’ll never forget about how talked about how seed oils are the cause of inflammation in the body and how it was the common denominator among his patients.
From that moment on, my family and I only use/cook with avocado oil, coconut oil, beef tallow, and olive oil which was one very easy healthy lifestyle change we made!
Tip: Companies are betting on consumers not reading their labels so if you care about your health, please start reading them. Anything with added color, gums, seed oils (vegetable, canola, corn, soybean, sunflower), or ingredients you cannot pronounce, ditch it! Follow Vani Hari of Food Babe if you want to learn more on this topic. And if you’re new to this arena, get ready to be shocked!
VII. COOKING MORE AT HOME
Speaking of seed oils, another easy healthy lifestyle change I’ve made is cooking at home a lot more. That’s not to say I don’t eat out because I do eat out. It’s called balance.
When cooking at home, I can control what goes in my food. I can also add extra ingredients that I know will help my body such as turmeric (which fights inflammation) and parsley (which helps detox the body from heavy metals).
Tip: When meal planning, go for meals that have a lot of similar ingredients so meal prepping/cooking will be easier!
VIII. DRAW BOUNDARIES / SAY NO
I know it’s an understatement when I say that life is so chaotic.
And if you’re like me, you may be pulled in many directions and that itself is so stressful.
When you’re stressed, it lowers your body’s immune system and you can get sick easier. And who has time to be sick?
The easiest way to combat stress/anxiety is to draw boundaries and learning to say no.
It’s not that you don’t care, you just need to protect your energy (and peace) in order to keep going/giving.
Tip: Let your loved one know that they deserve your undivided attention. In order to do that, you need some time to recharge to give them the best version of you.
IX. JOINED SEVERAL FACEBOOK GROUPS TO LEARN MORE
Over the past few months, I joined several Facebook groups just to gain some knowledge on what I was interested in learning more about: bioengineered foods and natural healing.
The result of this easy healthy lifestyle change? It has been SO incredibly helpful! I’ve passed on some information I’ve learned to loved ones too. The super fun part is that I’m seeing their health improve in such a short period of time!
I’m SO thrilled to continue to learn more about others’ experiences on these topics.
Tip: You may be overwhelmed with information at times, but don’t let it get to you. Just take any gold nuggets you need and move on. Make sure to share what you learn to help others!
X. GIVE MYSELF GRACE
Nothing will be perfect when you begin your wellness journey. Give yourself grace and lots of it. The overall goal is to make easy healthy lifestyle changes that will stick and become second nature/part of your daily routine.
When I first began my health journey, I started with one thing: my mindset.
Once I strengthened my mindset, I knew my next step would stick. And I was right! I’ve been going to the gym for nearly a decade — something I thought I could never do!
Then I added on one change (from the list above) at a time over the last ten years.
And throughout this time, I learned to let go and became less and less harder on myself.
Tip: When stepping outside of your comfort zone, remind yourself, “I feel this way because it’s new, not because I can’t do it.”
Remember, the goal is to focus on your overall wellness versus the number on the scale. To boot, you don’t have to do everything an article says to begin living a healthy lifestyle.
Just start somewhere small first. Once you establish that habit then you can layer on another lifestyle change.
Note, even if you don’t see results right away, remember that small, consistent habits add up to big results. Keep going and stay the course!
Next thing you know, you will be living a healthy life. And it’s all because of easy healthy lifestyle changes you’ve made.
I hope you enjoyed this article and that it inspires you to make some easy healthy lifestyle changes!
