First of all, credit goes to Brighton for today’s post!
She inspired me by asking on her Instagram what our best purchase was this year. And of course, I figured sharing my favorite purchases of 2017 with you with a blog post made the most sense!
Oh and Brighton, if you’re reading this, I couldn’t just pick one, so here’s my longgg answer to you! ::wink::
I discovered this product during the Nordstrom Beauty Event this past fall. I bought it through Sephora’s VIB sale because I heard this product is helpful for removing milia. So far, it’s helped reduce the redness around my nose, but I haven’t seen a difference with my milia…yet. I’m giving this product way more time though as my milia has been on my face for years.
This is also another product I was introduced to at the Nordstrom Beauty Event and I loveddd the way it felt on my skin! The product feels cold as soon as you put it on your skin and it really moisturizes without the oily after feeling. All I can say is that I want to bathe in this stuff, hah! Detailed reviews for both of these are coming soon!
This cult favorite among bloggers for years is now one of my favorite purchases of 2017! It really blends so well and doesn’t cake. I’m hoping they’ll make color correcting formulas soon so I can play with those too. Sidenote, I bought their limited edition eyeshadow palette for my brother’s girlfriend for Christmas and she loved it! Considering she’s a makeup adviser, that’s big brownie points for me, lol!
I hauled some MAC goodies during Black Friday and got this lipstick, this lipliner (for pinky lipsticks), and this lipliner (for nude-brown-ish lipsticks). I’ve used the one for nude lipsticks and it matches my favorite neutral lipstick perfectly!
I just started using this foundation brush this past week and I can see why the reviews are so high! If you want to read about this brush in more detail, check out Sabrina. She’s one of my favorite beauty bloggers and this post is detailed with various foundation brush reviews! Easily one of my top favorite purchases of 2017!
Pricey for liquid eyeliner, but it legit stays on for most of the day.
I naturally gravitate towards nude pinks so this lip gloss went right into my basket when I first saw it. I finished this tube last week and yes, I’m going back for another! It’s under $7 and is the perfect pink to top off my lipstick with if I want extra shine! Check out my full review of the other Revlon lip products above!
This thick-haired girl is so happy her bestie gave her a package of these hair rings! I was so impressed with these that I went out and bought another pack last week. They keep my thick hair in place when I work out or want it in a bun for work, which is a miracle!
I was introduced to this brand by my hair stylist a few months ago. After I told him that my hair is thick, coarse, and frizzy and asked him about shampoos, he said, “Davines.” I wasn’t sure he understood how bad my hair looks after a shower, but he said to trust him. He also said that the price is pretty high for shampoo, but that I don’t need to use a lot.
He was right. I’m barely halfway through the bottle and it’s made such a difference with my hair! I thought I had recognized this bottle because I saw a whole wall of it when I was in NYC at Eataly!
Get this shampoo if you have thick, coarse, and frizzy hair. Seriously. You can thank me later!
If I got Davines shampoo, it was natural I got the hair oil too (duh). Ladies, this oil does NOT leave a residue on your hands. Yep. I think that’s enough to warrant a purchase, right?
Yep. I’m old, so this best-rated spiralizer is on my list of best purchases of 2017. It cuts veggies so well and I don’t have to struggle putting it together when I want to meal prep. The blades are super sharp so be careful when switching out blades!
Need I say more? It’s not my dream rose gold luxury sneakers, but neutral is a great start! The soles of my feet are thanking me during and after my workouts. I will say that I’ll be wearing this brand for life.
Not only is this book full of recipes, but Wendy talks about the benefits of ingredients. I sat in bed a few weeks ago going through her book and there’s SO much great information! I highly recommend if health is your top goal this year!
Such a pretty addition to my kitchen! It’s sturdy and well-made for a product under $40/set. I love the long handles so my hands don’t touch powder when I dip it into the bottom of a bag protein shakes.
I’m not an UGG fan overall, but for these house slippers, I am! These are sooo soft yet sturdy to walk outside in! They’ve got an almost 5-star review with close to 300 reviews and are on sale right now (a few sizes left) so what does that tell you, hmm??
I needed a cover for my laptop for a long time and after my laptop fell out of my bag and crashed onto the floor at work, I decided it was time. I bought the skin in addition to the clear case and I’m so happy with it! Aside from the protection factor, it makes my laptop look so much more fun!
I got the mini set during the Nordstrom Anniversary sale and have been burning them slowly because I wanted to savor them. My favorite so far? Baies. And my co-worker just gifted me a large version of it for Christmas. I mean, how did she know?!
Tell me, what were your favorite purchases of 2017? Check out my beauty posts for future reviews, my hauls, what I’m currently testing and what products I want to try!
Note: I purchased these beauty products myself. I was not gifted these products nor was I compensated or asked to review these products by any of these brands or any (beauty) retailer. All opinions are solely my own.
