I’m so happy you’re here! I’m Huong (pronounced like ‘Wong’) and I’m a multipassionate creative and founder of Dallas-based lifestyle blog, She Sweats Diamonds!
I’m also a papercut survivor and lover of learning, traveling, storytelling, pizza, pandas, puppies and stepping on crunchy leaves.
I’ve been blogging for as long as I can remember. It’s hard to believe that my blogging streak is going on its 13th year.
However, this little space didn’t become “official” until January 2017.
Why? I never took my blog seriously because I was trying to figure out its direction. Do I keep it professional or write it like a diary? Will people care about my love for style and beauty? How do I do this fashion blogging thing?
That was just it.
I tried the whole one niche thing to please my audience and it didn’t work. At. All. Turns out I like to talk so my blog has evolved from No Boundaries to With Faith and Happiness to what is today: She Sweats Diamonds.
Thank you for visiting! I hope you join in on the adventure that is life with me!
And in case you’re interested, here’s how my blogging journey began…
What I'm all about...
My relationship with Christ is very important to me. I've made comebacks through the toughest times in life and am who I am today because of Him.
One of my goals is to reach a point where I feel a huge sense of peace and happiness each and every day of my life.
Wellness is a big part of my life and I'm very much into strengthening my mindset as well. Fact: sweat sessions are a bit easier when you're wearing cute workout clothes. Note, I said, 'bit'.
Personal Growth & Identity
I'm a huge advocate of personal development and being in a constant state of growth. As an identity coach, I love helping people understand who they are and their calling in life.
My daddy is the reason why I love self-education. Personal development books, podcasts and documentaries are my go-to resources. I'm also into graphic novels (Superman is my favorite) and am currently reading an epic fantasy series called The Sword of Truth.
One of my favorite things about traveling is seeing every corner of this beautiful world, especially landscapes and architecture. Italy and Greece have been my favorite places to visit so far. The UK, Iceland, New Zealand and Japan are next on my travel list!
Bean water is life.
I'm all about iced coffee all-year round...unless it's REALLY freezing. My go-to coffee favorites are cafe sữa đá (Vietnamese iced coffee) or my usual Starbucks order: a grande iced caramel macchiato with almond milk.
Because I'm an old soul, flowers are the way to my heart. To me, cream-colored roses and carnations are so underrated. However, my all-time favorite kind? Peonies.
Because I care about the environment, I prefer to purchase mid-tier to high-end luxury pieces. It's my personal choice, but I just can’t support the negative effects that come with the fast fashion industry: money laundering, trafficking, illegal business practices and adding to our landfills.
I'm a huge sucker for luxury beauty. A few favorite beauty brands of mine are Armani, Dior, CHANEL, Tom Ford, YSL Beauty, La Mer, Drunk Elephant, Tatcha, NARS, Summer Fridays, Laneige and Charlotte Tilbury.
I love to eat. Aside from phở, my favorite food is pizza and pasta. The wild mushroom flat pasta from Eataly NYC Downtown is my ABSOLUTE favorite dish! Add Lurisia’s Gazzosa sparkling lemon water and I'm the happiest camper...ever!
Christ's birth. The lights. The decor. The holiday spirit. Classic movies like Home Alone. Seeing someone's facial expression when they open their gift. Giving back. The magic of it all. Christmas is my favorite holiday. Ever.
