Within this last year, I’ve put makeup products on the back burner to explore the world of skincare. Now, don’t get me wrong, I love a great nude lipstick or neutral eyeshadow palette.
However, with skincare being a top priority in terms of my health goals, I love finding new-to-me brands and experimenting with various products. Have I had fun on this beauty adventure! While there are so many brands to discover and much to learn, I think it’s safe to say that I’m addicted. And since I’m having a ball, I thought I’d let you in on the fun and talk about my skincare arsenal…except it’s for those who don’t want to be overwhelmed when it comes to the skincare world. If I had a capsule skincare collection, these products I’m sharing today would be it!
I do not, will not and cannot go to bed without removing my makeup properly. Even on my laziest night, I still remove my makeup with a face wipe, cleanse and apply a moisturizer.
However, on my skincare journey, I’ve learned that my skin loves me if I cleanse thoroughly. And recently, I’ve discovered cleansing balms. Not going to lie. I was hesitant at first, but I decided to give it a go. Farmacy is the first cleansing balm I’ve ever used.
Can I say that I’m in love? I love that it doesn’t leave my skin dry (which is my biggest thing) after I rinse it all off.
I’ve always been a makeup wipe then cleanser kind of girl, but as I’m exploring the world of skincare more and more, I’m loving that I get to try out “concepts”. And cleansing balms are a fun new-to-me way to remove makeup!
Years ago, my makeup associate told me to use serums to combat my oily skin. She was right because I haven’t looked back since I’ve discovered serum products. However, I will admit that I was on the hunt for the right kind of serum to target my skin problems (discoloration and milia) for years.
After reading all of the positive reviews, I pulled the trigger on my first Drunk Elephant product. This glycolic serum is the most expensive in my skincare capsule and rightfully so.
After many uses, I can say that this is THE best serum for my textured skin. All I do is mix this with marula oil (more on that in a second) and the results have been phenomenal! I have seen a massive difference in my skin’s texture and truth be told, I’ve never seen results this quickly before either.
This glycolic serum is worth every penny and has made me a HUGE Drunk Elephant fan!
Speaking of marula oil, this is my most favorite facial oil. Ever! I’ve used this oil with Drunk Elephant’s glycolic serum and it’s been amazing!
On nights when I wanted to give my skin a break, I just put a few drops of this oil directly on my clean skin and it’s baby soft by morning.
The texture is smooth, silky and it doesn’t leave an oily residue at all. I bought the small bottle at first to experiment with. After running out of it weeks ago, all I can say that I’m writhing in pain without it. Seriously, I’m having withdrawals.
So when Sephora has their next VIB sale, I’m nabbing another bottle. The big bottle. And I’m keeping the small empty one to recycle it by refilling it to use when I’m traveling!
Trust me when I say to get this facial oil for your skincare capsule!
I love, love, love my jet lag mask! Since I ran out of my marula oil, I’ve been using this jet lag mask as an alternative.
And my face is very happy with it!
My current routine? Come home after a sweat session at the gym, shower and put on some of this amazing mask!
The best parts?
1) I don’t have to wash it off and can just hop into bed.
2) It’s great as primer to use before makeup.
3) I seriously think it’s made for people on-the-go like me. Shout to Marianna Hewitt and Lauren Gores for thinking of us busy people!
Sidenote, I pop mine in my skincare fridge so it feels extra amazing after a long day and a lovely shower!
If you’ve been on my skincare journey with me, you’d know that I LOVE this sunscreen from Tatcha! I talk about it all the time like people talk about Tom Brady when it comes to football.
My beauty routine and skincare capsule would never be complete without this beautiful tube of goodness! The texture is smooth and it disappears on my skin as quickly as I put it on.
The only sunscreen I’ve ever used that doesn’t leave white streaks, result in a sticky residue or give a white flashback.
This is forever my favorite sunscreen to use under my makeup! Even though I wish it had a higher SPF, I will not stop using this product.
If Tatcha ever makes a body sunscreen, I will gladly bathe in that stuff!
I hope you enjoyed today’s blog post! It was written in mind for those who don’t want to think to much when it comes to skincare and/or those who are on a beauty budget.
If you’re new to She Sweats Diamonds, please know that I only recommend products that I use and LOVE. If it’s a new-to-me brand or product, I prefer to try it for a few weeks/months before I post about it.
The five products mentioned in this post were personally purchased by me and used for months before I wrote this post.
